Casting has been completed on the trio of actresses to star in the new Charlie's Angels pilot. In addition to the previously announced Annie Ilonzeh, the new Angels will be played by Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor.

I hope it's not a straight up reboot and they bring in someone like Jaclyn Smith or Cheryl Ladd reprising their original roles.

I wonder if it's related to the movies. Drew Barrymore is one of the producers on the new Charlie's Angels. I also heard that Bosley is supposed to be a hot young guy in this version.

Yeah it could be much better than it sounds (and hopefully a lot better than the original, which was a sad knockoff of the far superior Addams Family).

With Fuller in charge (and probably writing some episodes), it should be ALOT better than the orignal Munsters. Fuller hasn't created a bad show yet imo. Of course, I guess this could always be his first bad show, but I doubt it. Munsters is an odd concept and Fuller likes to write odd projects. I hope this gets picked up.

Here's one I'm rooting for. Even if it's the train wreck it sounds like it will be, it sounds like a fun train wreck:

Rest (Philip Levens). Based on the comic book series Rest by Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff about a workaholic who enrolls in a drug trial which eliminates the need for sleep (drama, script).

Milo, of course, is starring. It needs a name change, tho...Hyper, Wired, Jacked, Amped, something along those lines. Break out the thesaurus.

I read an issue of Rest. I think it was the first issue at a cheaper price. I wasn't impressed with it. Maybe the comic got better? I don't know. I guess time will tell if the show is any good (if it gets picked up).

And it looks like this got a name change from Sand Men? It was better before!

S.A.N.D. (Craig Titley). A squad called the Sleep and Nightmare division enter peoples’ dreams to tackle their nightmares (drama, script).

Not the first time this concept has been tackled as a TV show. Anybody else remember Sleepwalkers? It was a short lived show on NBC. It was about a group of people that entered people's dreams to tackle their nightmares. I think Bruce Greenwood was the star. It wasn't a bad show (didn't last long though). I believe it aired during the time NBC was actually putting new shows on Saturday night. I miss Saturday night programing. Now its just a dead zone for TV. lol.

Oh and Charlie's Angels. *shivers* Then again, Hawaii Five-0 turned out well so maybe Charlie's Angels will? Then again...Drew Barrymore is invovled with the show and she was invovled with those bad Charlie's Angels movies...*shivers*

Anyway, here's hoping for at least a couple of new cool shows next season.

He was indeed. Naomi Watts, prior to her breaking out as a movie star, was also in the cast.

Edit to add: The CW has bought a pilot script for a zombie series. From Deadline Hollywood:

It's like The Walking Dead for young females. The CW is yet to make its first in-cycle pilot order this season, but the network just made a late spec script purchase with Awakening, a zombie drama from Canadian writer-producers William Laurin and Glenn Davis (The Listener). Going after a spec so late in the game usually means that the network has a potential pilot order in mind, but for now, the CW is not going that far with Awakening, which centers on two sisters who come of age and face off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. Laurin and Davis' script was first taken to Reveille which came on board to produce. Now that it has landed at the CW, it is being laid off at Warner Bros. TV, which will co-produce with Reveille. Laurin, Davis, Howard T. Owens, Carolyn Bernstein and Todd Cohen are executive producing the project, which was packaged by APA. Overall, the CW has only made one pilot order this development season, an off-cycle pickup of dramedy Danni Lowinski.

As for the new Charlie's Angels, according to a review of the pilot script the characters are new rather than recast versions of any prior ones and the tone isn't as campy and OTT as the movies.

I saw that "zombies for girls" story, good gort! How are they going to contrive a tragic love triangle from zombies, which, face it, are kind of oogie? Maybe the zombies can sparkle.

ABC orders pilots from Marc Cherry, 'Lost' scribes. And look! Another project with an expletive in the title

Marc Cherry:

Cherry’s the mastermind behind Halleluah, a drama pilot he wrote and will executive produce through ABC Studios. The logline: When the Tennessee town of Hallelujah finds itself being torn apart by forces of good and evil, a stranger arrives to bring justice, peace and quite possibly restore the faith in the world that the residents so desperately need. The episodes will be punctuated by songs sung by the gospel choir, which serves as a sort of Greek chorus.

Lost writers, Kitsis and Horowitz:

Kitsis and Horowitz wrote Once Upon a Time, a drama about a young boy who is drawn into a town where the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be real real.

Mike Kelley:

Revenge was written and executive produced by Mike Kelley through ABC Studios and focuses on a character named Emily Thorne, who has a secret. She’s new to the Hamptons and rented a beautiful house on the water for the summer and she’s welcomed into the spectacular community by her neighbors. Little do the townsfolk know, however, that every kind gesture is an invitation to their own downfall in this primetime soap.

dreamWorks:

The River, from Oren Peli, Jason Blum, and DreamWorks, follows the search for a famed adventurer/TV personality who, along with his crew, goes missing deep in the Amazon.

John Glenn:

Identity was written and executive produced by John Glenn through ABC Studios and is a procedural that centers on an elite police unit formed to combat the explosion of identity-related crime.

Robert Harling with Darren Star attached as an exec producer:

And finally, Good Christian Bitches! Written and executive produced by Robert Harling with Darren Star attached as an exec producer, this primetime soap is set in Dallas and asks the question – Is it possible to start over in a town that thinks they already know you? Amanda, once the ultimate “mean girl” in high school, returns home to Dallas after her marriage ends in scandal. Humbled, Amanda is nothing like the girl she once was. But as her old classmates reacquaint themselves with the new Amanda, will these “Good Christian Bitches” give her a second chance or is this their shot to seek revenge?

The title in bold will cause quite a stir if it goes to series.

That a supernatural medical show on CBS might be better than it sounds - the pilot at least will be directed by Jonathan Demme.

The supernatural medical drama...centers on an ultra-competitive surgeon whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the here-after.

Also: Some kind of sex & politics show.

Georgetown (formerly Inner Circle)...is described as a sexy soap centered around the young people behind the power brokers of Washington, DC.

John Ross Ewing, all growed up and starring in Dallas: The Next Generation.

Good looking guy but I'm trying to boycott all TV remakes.

Plus: Zombie lawyer show on the CW. I wish I could say I was kidding about that one.

I'll definitely be watching that one. I'm curious to learn more about the legal implications of a zombie outbreak.

The CW seems to be on a supernatural law show kick:

Heavenly ... centers on a dedicated young female attorney and a former angel, Dashiel Coffee, only recently turned human, who tackle cases together at the attorney's legal aid clinic – she saves clients’ butts while he saves their souls. As an angel, Dash never experienced feelings or emotions, and his “awakening” is a big part of the series, sometimes to hilarious effect.

Odds are it will. Most tv shows suck which is why so many new shows each season are canceled. Good shows are very rare.

Sounds like shit, but if it's filmed in DC, I might give it a little bit of credit. A show about DC could have potential to not suck, but this reminds me of shows like "The Deep End" that always tend to flop.
