My teacher asked me to write how science technology afeects my life. Im just not too suree what she means by science technology... What classifys as Science tech. Please someone help ASAP!

Im just not too sure what she means by science technology
I don’t know what she means either. “Technology” is usually taken to mean the making and use of tools, or the practical application of science to commerce or industry, otherwise known as engineering. So all technology is “science technology.” And it’s affected our lives in countless ways ever since we discovered how to make fire.

Contrast and compare how you and your family's life would be without a few of the following items that rely on the appliance of science:

  • mobile phones
  • computers
  • the Internet
  • pharmaceuticals and modern medicine
  • television
  • radio
  • the internal combustion engine
  • household appliances such as washing machines
  • electricity

For example, what would life be like 50, 100, 150, or 200 years ago? I think you would find that the further back you go, there would be a lot less time and money available to most people for pursuing personal interests.

Science is one thing and technology another, so "science technology" must then be the technology of science: the technology involved in development of probes and vessels to carry them to, say, Mars, building of gigantic particle accelerators, construction of fusion power plant prototypes, breeding bees to increase honey production...

As I read the term it means the technology needed for scientific exploration and -in other words- is the forefront of technology; scientists using technology to create new technology in order to do science. Of course it could merely mean the technological stuff scientists use; microscopes, computers, latex gloves...

While I also considered that interpretation of the OP's query, I thought it to be less likely given the context of "affects life", unless he or she really intended "vivisection" or "live animal testing".

^Less likely in this context indeed, but it is an industry like any other: millions of people have jobs because of 'science technology', towns across the globe compete to have scientific installations placed in their region for that reason, and because of the possible spin-off; attracting 'high-tech' industry...

You've got one great example right here! You're able to ask people all around the world this question.

Yeah, you're totally right about sci-tech, but I'm going to have to agree with the odd looking snowman/cat/sea lion orchestra conductor. This doesn't sound like a paper for for "Science in Modern Life 2103". Sounds more like Mrs. Applegate's 3rd hour homeroom.

If you live on the Gulf Coast you might mention Sci-Tech's negative affect via BP's oil disaster. If you want to keep up with said BP, you could include positive tech used for the never ending cleanup.

Magic baby seal -- please don't club me to death, flip flap.
Baby Seal Song
Melody — That Good Old Mountain Dew
Way up north where it is cold, you know they ain’t got much gold
They all make their living from the seal skins they’ve sold.
Me I like the killing, because it’s so fulfilling
And I hate to see a baby seal grow old.
Chorus:
You don’t bludgeon a seal ’cause you want a meal
You do it cause you want to hear those little suckers squeal.
You hit ‘em on the head, and you do it just for kicks
And you poke out their eyes with your eye-pokin’ sticks.
(Two — Three — Four)
My daddy was a little mean, my mama was a bit obscene,
Maybe that’s the reason for the way that I feel.
You might not believe me, but my woman wants to leave me
So I guess I’ll take it out on a baby seal.
Chorus
The liberals want to lock me up because I kill the seal pups
And tie their fur up into little bales.
I know that it won’t be long ’til all the baby seals are gone
So I guess I’ll just start wiping out the whales.
Chorus
Slice ‘em, dice ‘em, roto-till ‘em, chop ‘em up or just plain kill ‘em,
Their fur comes off with just one easy peel (RIP, RIP, RIP)
People, people don’t you cry cause I know that when I die
I’ll be coming back as a baby seal.
Chorus

Hmm, Sccott, one oddball post in three days, no reply from you, and your sig is a colon cleanse advert...

I'm somewhat suspicious!
