Yahoo Headline Spoils Fantastic Four Death

Thanks for the spoiler. Now I guess I don't have to buy the issue to find out who died, Drone. *shrug* A spoiler thread, which managed to go two entire pages without someone actually spoiling it. That's got to be a record.

I read the article and I heard the writer or editor's bs about how it was the natural progression for the character and it ultimately services the book. I don't care. This reeks of spectacle and a money grab.

Comic writers (and editors, as you stated) say this about EVERY SINGLE "big event", on various newsarama/CBR type interviews. It's never true.

Posting it in the thread without spoiler tags is a bit of a dick move, don't you think?
agreed. especially since the purpose of the thread was to discuss the fact that Yahoo spoiled it first.

Got to agree, as much as I was being silly about the Yahoo news report and "they all come back" comment, posting the actual spoiler (which I still prior to this didn't know) is a very uncool move.

Oh, I know. I've gotten the lingo. Natural progression of the character simply means "So, we've run out of ideas, so we'll take what should be a permanent solution to solve a temporary problem. I suppose I can't blame them too much. A lot of these characters have been in publication for 40 years. However, for much of that, the stories were extremely simple, so I refuse to believe the creative well has run dry.

Wait...people wanted a spoiler tag on a thread titled "Yahoo Headline Spoils Fantastic Four Death"? . It was pretty obvious. Most people had correctly predicted the character in question. Peter Parker will be attending the funeral and as was teased back at San Diego Comic Con last summer could be asked to temp fill in as a FF.

Sorry, guys. I thought everyone who was discussing it in this thread already knew. My apologies.

EDIT:

FYI - the website also changed the article title and deleted previous comments made by others.

Fantastic Four death: One of the superheroes will die in upcoming Marvel issue

The images were of the green and black tech costume he just used against the new Hobgolin, a new version of the Spider-Armor, a old style FF costume with the bag over his head. It was teased that all of these costumes had a purpose and were temp.

I like how a lot of people in this thread are smugly pointing out that this character will be back when Marvel themselves said that they would be back later this year.

Probably want to do some reading before opening your mouth.

Technically all the FF have died before-Reed in Defalco's run, Invisible Woman in a miniseries (and a future Invisible woman was killed off during the Miller years) and the Thing during the Waid run.

Plus the team has split up and gotten replacement members more times than you'd think. Not just people like Namor and Ant-Man, but also a few Hulks, X-men.... I think pretty much all members of the team have been on the Avengers a few times too!

Fantastic Four to be no more with the death of

The Human Torch aka Johnny Storm in the release Tuesday of issue No. 587.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Do you think they'll replace him?
like the one cartoon series did with a stupid robot?
