That could be fun, but we'd have to set up parameters for the bet and figure a way to pay out that doesn't include personal information. PM me if you're serious about this.

Well I think Bishop is right on the money, I wouldn't recommend anyone plunking down any serious cash for this game.

Yeah, sure if and I stress IF STO goes F2P I'll really being kicking myself for getting the lifetime back just before the game launched when I have access to ALL the content and Cryptic will actually be sort of paying me back in Cryptic Points so I never have to spend money on them if I so choose especially since by the time they would go F2P I'll likely have either gotten or be close to getting my money's worth , when for free I could get a stripped down version of the game fewer options for customizing my character and have to pay to get something on the C-store. Truely I have made a poor rash decision

Well, using Champions Online as a base, and say STO DOES eventully goes FTP, then a sub is still required in order to play new content, access better items, better stats and play the game to the fullest. (plus get a 400 Atari Tokens stipend a month) Anything less than that, and it is not worth playing. So I will be buying the lifetime next week when I get paid. I kicked my self for not getting it back at head start. I have been playing a year so far, and have no desire to quit anytime soon!

How do you guys get into? I played STO for three months and I got tired of the game and I was no where near the rank of Admiral. I guess I just suck at playing certain games like this one.

Exactly! I feel 100% the same.

When did you play the last time? If it's been a while you should come back and check it out again. There's loads of new content since the first 3 months. Your account is still there, you just need to reactivate it.

    Exactly how I feel.

Have you been playing alone or with other players? Connecting to others early has made a world of difference to me.
When have you played last? A lot has changed and been added since the first 3 months.
You should check it out. Your account along with your character and all your progress is still there, so no problem to reactivate it.

You'll also get some nice perks like the option to play as a liberated Borg and access to the captain's table without having to have an active account for 400 days, plus now their including a free key now so people don't even have to buy the game to play.

would be nice if they gave you something else if you'd already PURCHASED the game. Not much of a benefit if you already paid $40 for the game when it came out. Even a pile of cryptic points to buy a ship or some uniforms would be a nice bonus.

Think I'm leaning towards buying it with the 20% off sale, though. Would be nice to get a bigger perk than just a liberated Borg character, though. Especially since I'd have to start over with a new character to take advantage of it.

Well you also get a custom piece and new title, both of which your current character can use and the page for the lifetime made it sound like they were going to add some more perks to the lifetime sub at some point. Plus your account never goes inactive so you get veteran rewards faster and after the amount of months of per month the lifetime's price equals your playing for free from then on with full content.

They did, based on who you purchased it from. Some of those things are also available on the C-Store, but you got them for free before anybody else.

Those weren't tied to preorders, BTW; you can still get stuff. I got the Liberated Borg from Amazon a month or so ago, when they had the game on sale for $0.01 for one day.

I got it from Amazon originally, so i got a borg character, but as a BOFF, not to play myself. The new bonus is to play one myself, right? All the "exclusive" pre-order or distributor-based stuff has pretty much already shown up for sale in the c-store anyway, so any fun there is pretty much gone.

And I meant as far as being given a digital copy (with key) for the game. Already bought the key and the game, so how about an option for something else (like the suggested extra points). Since the price of the game has fallen to almost nothing, not like I can sell my extra copy or anything...

Speaking of the Borg character from Amazon, I have one that I used on my original character, which is now a VA. I've recently started a new character - can I use the liberated Borg BOFF with this character as well, or is it only resticted to one character?
