^Interesting. Many of these people are using fake accounts. Many images have been photoshopped. Most of these people aren't Australian.
A bloke was charged last year over the defacing of a tribute site. The police are willing to take actions against Australians even if they can't take action over people of other nationalities doing it.
Taking a copyright approach might be different as copyright law in the US would cover Australian works. The guilty people would probably only get a small fine but at least it is something.

Big storm hit Brissie last night. Crazy winds bringing down trees. A trampoline from a neighbouring street came flying over houses and landed in one of our neighbours driveways and another big tree only narrowly missed another neighbours house when it crashed down. We were without power for half the night.
Don't know how bad it was in the flood affected suburbs but it couldn't have helped. More storms tonight and tomorrow night apparantly.

Somebody is creating hate pages about a 13-year-old kid who saved his 10-year-old brother at the cost of his own life? That's absolutely hideous.
There was more than one hate page. The worst one was one that suggested what could be done to his dead body. Also the official memorial page set up by his family was defaced with porn and disgusting suggestion though owner of that page quickly removed things.
I do currently live in Melbourne, but I was born and raised in Ipswich and the townships to the west inbetween Ipswich and Toowoomba and most of my family as well as many old friends are still there.

I reckon that almost any Aussie you speak to, will have relatives scattered all over the country. I have rellies in Qld (Brissy and the Gold Coast), one of my best friends (from highschool) lives in Central QLD (I live in NSW). Both DH and I have rellies who were originally from the states of Western and South Australia. Our number 2 son lives in the ACT. DH has rellies in Tasmania. The only state we don't have rellies or friends in is The Northern Territory.

It was really sick. One of the reasons why I'm ignoring facebook for a while.
Whoever did that was truly the scum of the Earth.
