Trivia question re character actor and DeForest Kelley

Lizard Queen

Cadet
Newbie
I was wondering if there is any relation between DeForest Kelley and acharacter actor who appeared on the original TV series, Gene Lyons.Gene Lyons played Ambassador Fox, I believe.

In my twenty five years of Trekking, I've never heard of any family connection between the two. I'm saying no, but, I'm ready to be proven wrong!

Every time I watch the episode I think I see a resemblance between the actors, which I find quite distracting, but maybe I'm just detecting a familiarity from having seen Mr Lyons in other roles on other shows when I was a kid watching waaaay to much television.

Apparently I have unusually good abilities in face recognition, based on some online tests that I've done. Remembering character actors in minor roles and TV ads is apparently associated with this type of ability.

I’m not especially sharp at recognizing faces, but I think everybody recognizes character actors they’ve seen in dozens of movies and TV shows -- it’s putting a name to the face that’s the hard part.

Yeah, I was watching part of the Green Hornet marathon on Syfy and saw "Mr Atoz" and "Dr Roger Korby". No idea what their real names were.

Michael Strong played Roger Korby

Ian Wolfe played both Septimus from 'Bread and Circuses' and Mr. Atoz in 'All Our Yesterdays'.

Ian Wolfe pops up in a variety of roles in a bunch of 1940 Universal Sherlock Holmes films with Basil Rathbone as Holmes and Nigel Bruce as a brain-dead Dr. Watson.

I've seen Ian Wolfe in several noirs, too, as well as other Star Trek guest actors.

And John Carradine popped up in the same ep as Ian Wolfe (Mr. Atoz).

Which kinda gave away the "mystery" of the killer. :p

That one old guy who played several roles on Star Trek popped up in several shows and movies of the 60-80's. He was the old man in Creepshow who "wanted my cake" and was a zombie thing. Know who I am talking about?

You mean the actor from "The Cage", "Return of the Archons" and "For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky"?

Indeed! Especially since the wax dummy of "The Scarf" was a dead-ringer for Carradine!

As mysteries go, that would not have taxed Scooby-Doo!
