The only seriously famous person ever to come from the town I live in is Hans Christian Andersen.
Celebrating the 200'th year of his birth (in 2005) the Town started replacing the silhouetted walking figure of pedestrian crossings with ones featuring a silhouette of the poet:

Of course he's presented as standing in the red signal:
The double-red is a pre-LED peculiarity of this town as a child was killed crossing the street back in the early days of traffic-lights -just because a bulb had burned out.

I really hate these "lets do a contest to find a symbol we can use"-things, but I must admit that I believe Thue Christiansen actually did a great job making Erfalasorput!
