A bit strange though, that neither HAL nor Red Matter made an appearance in this contest

If this was a Sci-Fi Fantasy contest, they'd definitely be up for grabs.

I forgot -and it was this exact thing that made me stop joining the misc-AV-contests in the first place; my first and best ideas were always in some way from (SciFi) film and/or TV...

I got as far as posting a picture of Red from Cars before remembering the rules...

Runoff. Dibs on being Spock. An idea for future ties, could be that person who reaches score of the leaders, wins. But runoff for 24 hours could determine who wins. Or we could share victory (come up with a theme together, and one posts the entry thread, while the other posts the voting thread)

How about a quick round with only the two contestants: they each make up a tweak on each others entries and PM them to the OP within 24 hours who then ups another voting thread (for another 24 hours)
