I like hearing about the little things that happen during my friend's day, or what random things he/she is thinking. A lot of it can be pretty funny or enlightening.
Exactly. Especially when I'm stressed out at work and need like a 10 min breather. It's nice to just go thru FB and take my mind of things. Reading a funny post, or seeing pictures of my friends partying and having fun. And then maybe posting something stupid on my friend's wall.
You meet so many ppl in your life, but you can only keep in close contact with so many ppl, who are your closest friends. Once in while, you'll see your other friends at birthdays parties or maybe just bump into them randomly at restaurants, bars, clubs or even on the street. But with FB, you never have to completely lose touch. And it's just nice to see your friends having a good time or writing something funny on their status. And its so easy just to write on each other's wall if you havent seen each other in a while.
Also its great for getting girls. I don't add or message any one that I havent met before. But if you meet a girl at a club or bar, even if she already gave you her number, FB still has good use. 1) its easy to just randomly write some comment on her wall or msg her, so u can build up your rapore. 2) you find out about the girl, ie. is she single, what her interests are, what she does for fun, what kind of friends she hangs out with, what job and education she has. It makes it easier to filter out the ones you just want to be friends with. 3) At the same time she can see what you're like. She sees you in pictures with your friends partying and having a good time. She sees you have a job and car. She sees what kind of music you like. Etc. 4) it helps me keep track of the girls' names lol
But remember it is a social utility tool. So if you're not a very social person, it's pretty much useless to you. Most of the FB haters I know, aren't very social. I know one guy I went to school with. The only pictures he has on FB are screenshots from some RPG game. And his "friends" are the other online players. It's pretty sad.
Also your age makes a difference. If you were in college or university back when FB started, pretty much everyone has it. If you graduated before FB started, not as many of your peers will be online. FB is only useful if the majority of your peers are on it. That is the point of a social networking program.
