Merry Christmas, everyone!

The long wait has finally ended and Matt Smith and company return to our screens!

To save Rory and Amy, who are on a spaceship about to crash, the Doctor must save the soul of a lonely rich man in Sardicktown.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Christmas_Carol_(Doctor_Who)#cite_note-BBC_Press-2

Merry Christmas one and all - I'm excited for this!

Truly, the Doctor Who Christmas Special is the modern Christmas institution I look forward to more than any other.

Until a short time ago, I wasn't really interested in this, after a season I thought was disappointing. But then I watched the last season of the Sarah Jane Adventures, including the episode with the Doctor and I got slightly more excited for this. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I hope they are not tempting fate with the
Flying Sharks

^ As long as they don't try
jumping them
, it'll be OK.

Wow, every time I see Katherine in the commercial, I get chills. She's that gorgeous.

About an hour to the proms here, I'll watch it during the DVR record. Same with the special.

50 mins or so to go. I will be having dinner watching (after having fairly stuffed myself for the rest of the day with Terry's Chocolate Orange!)

BTW, did anyone see the Dalek on the BBC One ident this Christmas?

Church is done, the presents are wrapped, and other than opening gifts, the Doctor Who Holiday special is the one thing I'm most looking forward to tonight. Yeah spending time with the family is important, but is it wrong that I'm looking more forward to A Christmas Carol than dinner?

I'm DVRing it, but I will watch it tonight. Think of it as a nice bookend to a wonderful day.

are they showing the Doctor Who Prom on BBC Am? does the proms normally get a US outing?

I don't think BBCA has showed it before, as far as I remember.

That kid in the audience with the fez & mop

Enjoy the show, folks1 I'll be at my grandparents' for the rest of the day and I'll watch the episode tomorrow.

Really lacked something, not quite sure. Didn't enjoy it, was better than that one with the Cybermen but still not great. Karen Gillan looked hotter, but she stilled annoyed the shit out of me as well.

Its a Christmas special, why did the storyline have to be full of timey wimey, technobabble and generally a cluster fuck? Then they just try fit Katherine Jenkins singing it anyway possible. Gave it a fair rating - music was good, Murray Gold as usual on form. I can certainly see why Moffat was banking on most people being drunk atm.

Even though it was not the best episode ever, I love the star trek bridge with lens flairs and his psychic paper shorting out because the lie was just too big.:guffaw:
Just hope daily fail doesn't complain about the honey moon jokes.
Ohhh trailer. :techman:

Wasn't bad, but did lack something. At first, it seemed to be playing A Christmas Carol really straight, to the point it was almost corny. The latter part saved it, admittedly with Katherine Jenkins' singing, and the fact Matt Smith hasn't hung up his acting shoes for the Christmas special.

It seemed a lot more light-hearted fun than any of the last few specials, I know they kept repeating '4003 people', but it's more an actual Christmas story than a normal Doctor Who story that happens at Christmas.
