Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Denis Leary is confirmed as Captain George Stacy. One of the good things that BND has established is having Betty Brant as a strong supporting character and essentially Peter's best friend. Betty has been front and center in some cases during arcs and in the Big Time debut it was revealed that she was back with Flash Thompson. Hobby is indeed back with a revamped costume "working" (I say that in quotes because it's not been revealed just exactly what Hobby's motivations are) with the Kingpin. I think Peter gets his new upgraded black and green tech suit to fight the Hobgoblin.

Denis Leary is an excellent choice to play Captain Stacey. I think he's going to have a much more expanded role than James Cromwell did. I am liking how casting has shaping up so far. Harry and Norman Osborn are still left to cast unless they're not going to be in the film.

^ If it isn't, then Diego is one naughty sabretooth tiger when the cameras are off him. ;)

That picture makes him look 35, even though his profile says he was born in '85 (which is relatively good by adults-playing-teens standards). Hopefully it's just a bad shot.

I'm starting to think that this casting isn't just for one movie but for the entire trilogy in some cases and that the three films are going to be an evolving storyline rather than separate stories like the Rami trilogy was. The amount of casting for secondary and supporting characters makes me think this. Good to see Peter's parents in this, I wonder if they'll go with a combination of the 616 back story combined with the Ultimate story?

More casting, including Campbell Scott (Damages, Roger Dodger) and Julianne Nicholson (Ally McBeal, Law & Order) as Peter's parents

Nicholson also played cute-as-a-button ADA Christina Finn on Conviction and she co-starred with John Billingsley on NBC's short-lived paranormal series The Others. By being cast as Peter Parker's mother, she is now officially a MILF!

Emma Stone as a blonde: Boo.

I mean she's good looking, sure, but I dunno. I like the reddish hair she had before.

(Yes, blonde is her natural color.)
