Favorite Pop Tart?

Pick Your Favorite 3! Pick 3!

I also like Gwen Stefani (who isn't listed) and Christina Aguilera (who isn't listed).
I've adored Gwen Stefani ever since No Doubt had their big breakout back in the ’90s. But she’s over 40 now and not what I’d consider a “Pop Tart.” A pop MILF, maybe.

Love the Marilyn Monroe hair. And girls half her age would kill to have those legs.

What no Miley?

Pink is too insecure, Kay.tee.Pear.eee.sings.too.sing.song.eee.for.mee, Gaga just doesn't connect for me despite seeming like she should, Rhianna, Taylor and Avril are various levels of OKish.

I think I'd have to go with Ke$ha for being trashy and manufactured and yet still has had a couple of songs that I like despite all my better judgment and reason.

In my link in The OP, Billboard Hot 100 Here!

Only Girl (In The World)
By Rihanna is #1 & at #8 with What's My Name?

Raise Your Glass
By P!nk is #2

We R Who We R
By Ke$ha is #4

Firework
By Katy Perry is #6

Mine
By Taylor Swift is #33

I tossed in Lady Gaga & Avril Lavigne.

Taylor Swift, by a mile. Lady Gaga is an attention whore and i just don't get the fascination. And Katy Perry's look really doesn't do it for me (and her songs all seem identical, so not even getting points for the music, really).

Taylor Swift is my fave by far but I also have a thing for Hilary Duff (who, sadly, didn't make the list :() and on the somewhat less mainstream side, Robyn's new album Body Talk is really good. I also like some Avril Lavigne every now and then.

I like Avril doing Avril's stuff. Her second album is very good and in parts excellent, and her first is good. The less said about the third, the better.

But she falls apart doing covers. There's a video on the intertubes of her doing Basket Case which is just cringeworthy. And that version of Fuel is rubbish.
You made me curious and I listened to both. Big mistake. What's with her pronouncing "s" as "sh"? Isn't it Scottish? Or is it something Canadian too? And why I never noticed it in her own songs? I'm utterly confused.

As I posted on the last page Rihanna(#1/8), P!nk(#2), Ke$ha(#4), Katy Perry(#6) & Taylor Swift(#33) all currently have songs in Billboards Hot 100.

I suspect the answer is that a lot more polishing and post production work goes into the songs she is intending to release. The covers are largely just for live shows and don't go through the same super stringent (and super expensive) editing and re-recording processes. She is also not trying to sell the covers, merely pad out her concerts with them. But she does want people to listen to her sing one of her songs live, then go buy her album, so again the polishing is worth the expense.

I don't think her version of “Basket Case” sounds that bad. At least the song fits her early Punk Lite style. And that performance clip must be from around the time of her first album, when she was only 17 or 18. Her singing has gotten a lot better since then.

No spark. Say it ain't so, I will not go.. *yawn*. Emote, perhaps? Even her stage presence screams 'I'm bored'.

After viewing a couple more clips, I think I listened to a truly terrible recording the first time (this one). Still, her voice is too feeble for that song in my opinion, and get lost in the guitar and bass.

Yep. Sounds like she just don't like the song.

^^ . . . but she’s so damn CUTE!!

I agree, though, Avril is much better doing her own material. Her voice is strong and expressive here, even with those weird vowels.

Maybe she was hammered, and slurring her words.

Anyway--I voted for Gaga.

I don't listen to any of these people, but she's the freakiest.

Went with other.

My three would be

Kate Nash
Delta Goodrem
Dido

I only picked Katy Perry, cuz she and Taylor are the only ones I remotely like, and i prefer brunettes.
