master display systems table

I loved the master display systems table--often called the "pool table"--in Main Engineering. It provided a central location for analyzing the ship's problems and served as a focal point for engineers on that shift.
For some reason, it was only on the Galaxy-class ships and was not continued on later classes. Why? I wish the newer Starfleet ships would be equipped with this table, don't you?

In What You Leave Behind, during the stock footage of the two Miranda's getting blown up (Orginially the Sitak and the Majestic.) a cut to the inside of what should be one of those ships a Starfleet officer goes falling over what looks to be a "pool table."

That looked like reused stock footage from "The Valiant" in Season 6 of DS9 prior to the cadet captain ordering the ship "hard about."

Didn't the NX-01 have a pool table in the aft of the bridge?

If it wasn't considered one, it sure looked like one to me.

The 1701-D "pool table" was a redressed set piece from the Starfleet Control Room on Earth from TREK IV. In the first few episodes of TNG it was missing the black plexiglass top with the display graphics and was very similar to the way it looked in TVH.

Love how they never let anything go to waste...
