Me three. I too think there is more leeway to reboot these properties so long they keep the quality up. Each raising the bar. Although I'm sure there will be a few clunkers on the way.

And judging from the green lantern trailer it feels like. DC's version of Favreau's Iron Man in terms of tone. Which I don't mind at all.

I do not know what people hate so much about X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE. It was a fun action movie, with a brilliant cast (especially Jackman and Schreiber), a good plot and it was more down to the Earth than the last X-Men films. I liked the gritty style of it, and all the action scenes were cool (especially the tower fight).

I never read the comics though, which could probably explain why I enjoyed all 4 X-films so far.

That being said I am looking forward to both FIRST CLASS and THE WOLVERINE. Aronofsky is a very talented director, who captures the essence of characters on screen. I trust that THE WOLVERINE will become the best and most demanding of the X-films.

It was a fun action movie, with a brilliant cast (especially Jackman and Schreiber), a good plot and it was more down to the Earth than the last X-Men films. I liked the gritty style of it, and all the action scenes were cool (especially the tower fight).

I never read the comics though, which could probably explain why I enjoyed all 4 X-films so far.

Yes! And I loved all four films, even the much hated third one. They had a constant continuing story and I did not 'feel' the much discussed drop in quality from the 2nd to the 3rd.
As for ORIGINS. It was a totally different film and reminded me of RAMBO - FIRST BLOOD in style and narration. It was not worse than the other three. So far no X-film has disappointed me and I am really looking forward to both prequels/spinoffs which are in production.

It was more product than art or entertainment, created merely to retain rights on something and shoehorned, rather indelicately, a bunch of unnecessary characters in it, again, merely to retain rights. It was sloppily produced, such as showing locations we had already seen, but for some reason they looked completely different now. And "gritty?" It was overly glossy in its presentation of its character (which is the opposite of how the character should be presented) and it's very quality was cheap. Cartoon claws, anyone? There were vast swaths of it that didn't even make sense on a character level. This guy comes into your kitchen with your radiator or sink or whatever cleanly cut in half and apologizes, and you just say put it over there and don't worry about it? It was cleanly cut in in half!?! That didn't strike anyone as curious?

Just all around a lazy, lazy film. That's why people don't like it. Oh, and all the fights, especially the tower fight, were shot like shit.

In your opinion. It was not a masterpiece, but somewhere close to X2 for me (in my opinion). I liked Logan's and Creed's interaction. The two brothers made the film for me.
And I liked the plot-twists. I have never seen it coming that Kayla was actually alive and well, and that everything was orchestrated by Stryker.
I liked the reference to the (chronologically) later films, and after watching the four films in chronological order, I cannot find big issues with continuity (okay... okay... Victor Creed not remembering his brother in X1... but then again, who told you Creed and Sabertooth are the same person? Just like the XOW 'Emma Frost' is not Emma Frost after all! ).

Maybe I can enjoy the films, because I do not know the comics nor the animated shows. I find the style of the films (excluding timetravel, aliens and alternate dimensions) much more credible.

No X film has disappointed me so far... and that's four films in a row. Not even STAR TREK was able to hold that line.

I thought Wolverine was alright. If not for the horrible bastardization of Deadpool at the end I could call it good movie. Oh, and the hilariously poor CGI claws that never stayed on the knuckles where they were supposed to

Actually the claws are supposed to emerge between the knuckles, not on them, which is why there are only three of them.

I've said many times before that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is one of only a handful of other films that nearly made me leave the theater it was so bad. My major problem with the movie is that I think it suffered from so many cameos. I mean this was marketed and promoted as a solo Wolverine film but we got cameos from so many characters, including Charles Xavier himself!!! The story it's self was pretty average, the acting was bland, the special effects and action sequences were average even for an X-Men movie, the score was crap, I did enjoy the cinematography I'll give the movie props for that. It's pretty bad when your most entertaining and exciting sequence is Ryan Reynolds swinging around katana blades and making a few puns!!! The Team X raid is the best part of the film. I was majorly disappointed at the entire use of the Weapon X sequence after being teased brilliantly in "X2". Yeah this whole movie left a bad taste in my mouth. If there are fans who dug it...that's fantastic...but it was a pretty awful movie.

That all being said I'm really looking forward to "The Wolverine" and have high hopes for it. Dare I say that I might now be looking forward to this more than I am "X-Men: First Class"?

Funny... I loved the score, got even a complete edition and I am still listening to it... especially the main theme (titled 'Logan through time' on the OST).

Different people, different tastes... it seems.

I liked the cameos (too bad they left Storm out in that African village), especially Xavier's cameo at the end. Made a superb climax for me, and was a very pleasent surprise.

As for Deadpool. I had no idea he had a different backstory. But honestly, everything came together in the end, so in the context of the movie itself, this story worked (at least for me)

The motorcycle sequence was one of the most laughably bad action sequences I've seen in a 'major motion picture' in a while. The green-screen/compositing work alone... Gavin Hood apparently directed a couple of well-liked independent films, but he had no business making a big-budget action movie.

Since most scenes were filmed with stuntmen, I can only think of the sequence when Logan turns the bike with his claws, that looked somehow 'strange'. Most of the other scenes were actually shot on location. On the Bluray they have a whole segment on this scene! The barn exploding, the bike in the woods... Even the heli crash was shot (no CGI model there), so I really do not know what you are talking about!

The motorcycle scene and the helicopter sequences were lame, I actually laughed during the helicopter scene. I think the film tried too much and the blatant interference from Fox hurt it.

As someone else pointed out unfortunately fans like Xavier (and this isn't a knock on you dude just a generalization) are why those types of movies are made. My best friend who dragged me there and knows nothing about the X-Men except what he's seen in film loved the movie and wondered why I hated it despite me spending a good hour or so after wards explaining things.

I have many friends that don't read comics and like the movie.
When asked why I have issues with it and I explain why, they reply: You're nitpicking and not to expect a film to be exactly as it is in comics. I've come to agree with them, to a degree. Especially when you consider that comic writers change and alter characters and origins all the time and most times we accept it. It does seem very funny that we'd be upset with a little altering from comic to film. He's still Wolverine and Sabertooth was even better than he was in X-Men.
How bad could it be if folks are still willing to return for a sequel?

Well to be honest I think fans are wanting to see the sequel because of who is directing and who is writing. There seems to be a more dedicated effort to making this a serious film with the comics as source material. If Darren Afronsky wasn't directing this I honestly wouldn't give a rat's ass about the sequel and didn't.
