You might as well go for the first one and claim the high ground. There might not be enough time for him to change plans if they go out in the quarter or semi-finals (not that I'm a rugby expert).
Hopefully it won't take him too long to get over his depression when the All Blacks choke in front of their own fans

Indeed there won't be. However, all this is academic as we know the ABs will be there in the finals...
I can remember thinking the All Blacks was a cool team name when I was a kid, before I knew anything about rugby so I instinctively support them anyway

Truthfully, I like soccer (played it in high school), but do not care at all for rugby.
Imagine if we had a Basketball or Football team in the US called "All Blacks" lol What kind of flak they would get!!

Actually, I thought I was being funny (in my own, deluded world)... then I realized later that we weren't talking about SOCCER... but about the American-football-ish game.
I have no idea how the games differ.
And yeah... we could never get away with a team called "All Blacks" here. Heck, I am from D.C.... and every couple years we have to go though the "Redskins-name-should-be-changed" debate.
And I don't even want to get into the fact that the Washington BULLETS (basketball) had to change their name because "Bullets" wasn't deemed appropriate anymore.
(Ummm... hello... fast and on-target? Not a good image for an athlete?

I think I'll go pluck all the red- and green-colored Rice Krispies from the Special Rice Krispie Holiday Box before the Treats are made for a school class.
We can't risk letting an innocent schoolchild consume a 1"x1" red and green sprinkled Treat if they don't happen to celebrate Christmas.
That might be offensive.
(If you think I am kidding, this was a real lawsuit somewhere. Yeah... the kid was scarred for life cause they weren't Christian, but had to see Rice Krispie Treats with some red and green coloring in them at the class Holiday Party.)

I am gonna go sing the Hallelujah Chorus, and follow it up with a Dreidel song and lovely Kwanzaa melody.
And you know what.... the latter two won't OFFEND me just because I don't happen to celebrate those in my own home. In fact, I just might learn something about another religion or culture.

Yes, I think that's what most women believe rugby is about. You may see an odd shaped ball passed around occasionally, but I'll leave you to decide whether that adds anything of interest.
Good. Because most supposed objections to "political correctness" are actually objections to being polite and considerate of others.
I live in America, and I can say almost anything I want, understanding that there are consequences to being rude or bigotted or narrowminded. But virtually nothing is actually banned here, and it's pretty whiny and self-pitying to insist otherwise.
That's because sadly in general, the United States is still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to racism (not to mention homophobia and other discriminations)

Considering the Rugby world cup is the 3rd biggest sporting event in the world after the Football world cup and the Olympics, I'd suggest you try and catch a game sometime. Amazing sport with a brilliant inclusive spirit behind it.
