Your Next Album

A year ago, Zion Raverscene (who we don't see often enough these days) posted this:
Something I happened upon today, shamelessly nicked off another forum (which was in itself shamelessly nicked off another forum)... how to pick your band name, first album name, and album cover:

1 - Go to Wikipedia and select a random page, or use this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random

The title (ignoring any disambiguation suffixes) of the first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Get a random quotation from this page (NB it may produce pop-up ads)
http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3

The last four words of the very last quotation of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on "explore the last seven days" as per below:
http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/

The THIRD picture along, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

(At this point, going to a place like http://imageshack.us and linking the front page thumbnail works best. Alternatively, just paste the link to that page.)

Put it all together, that's your first album. :bolian:
And I added this: a random phrase generqator for song titles:
http://watchout4snakes.com/creativitytools/RandomWord/RandomPhrase.aspx

Here's the link to the previous thread:
http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=107588

It was an immense amount of fun and in some cases some really good album designs came together. I also chose band me member names and some band bio stuff. But just the cover is fine, whatever floats your goat.

So, it must be time for the follow up album. Shall we take it for another spin around the block?

To begin, my own favourite from last time:

"Him to the Cemetery" by Yannick Ossok.

Songs:
Delicate Background
Giant Structure
Sparring
Paraphrasis
Cured Swamp
Send Him to the Cemetery (Done as several albums have the title song in there somewhere. Send was the 5th word from the end of my quote)
Experiencing Mercy
Nothing Woke the Nun
Snow Predicted
Stark
Plotted Election
Wired

With the exception of the overly arty picture, I quite like this. The song titles paint a bit of a creepy/conspiratorial theme. For the record, I only skipped a phrase(for song titles) if it made no sense at all, and that was only when I was messing around with the different options. If we're choosing singles, I choose "Delicate Background", "Nothing Woke the Nun" and "Snow Predicted".

I'd guess for the style, either indie rock or folk (only really due to the album cover). Not exactly sure. Could even be rap.
I'll just cop out and say it's a mix of styles.

Here's mine:

Track listing:

1. Select Joy
2. For Communicating
3. Reflecting Composer; Irrespective scoring
4. Holy
5. Land Preselector
6. Hardly Back
7. Merely Specifying Talent
8. Same
9. Behind Responsibility

I'm thinking shoegaze-type indie.

Mmh. I don't see a Spanish file name there, unfortunately. Searching flickr for 'Jose Luis' didn't help, either. Oh well.

Wait a couple of days and then try looking for it on TinEye.

Just a suggestion ;)

Thanks but when I clicked on the flickr link in the OP, the picture came up. What a coincidence. It's Cadiz, not Bari, but I've been there. That's why it was familiar. :)

Now, that would explain why I can't seem to find any of the buildings in the photo on Google-Image...
