DW featured in new book by Time Traveler's Wife author (book spoiler)

Back when Girl in the Fireplace aired, just about everyone loved it, except perhaps those who kept pointing out how much it seemed to be inspired by (or steal from, depending on the critic) The Time Traveler's Wife.

Well, the author doesn't seem to mind. In fact, according to this review (spoiler alert for fans!), Audrey Niffenegger's new novel Her Fearful Symmetry actually incorporates Doctor Who, David Tennant and Girl in the Fireplace into the narrative! (Not as a crossover, just the lead character talking about the series)

The out-of-order romance idea was hardly original when the Time Travellers' Wife did it - Molly Brown had done it as Bad Timing in the early 1990s (and had a film option that was scuppered by TTW 'as it would look like a rip-off'), and I bet there were some before that...
