From TV.com:

When a young teenage girl's body is found near Waikiki, Steve and the team are assigned to finding her missing sister. The case is further complicated since their father is Michael Reeves an United States Ambassador assigned to the Philippines.

Nalowale is Hawaiian for disappear/gone/forgotten, etc.

I voted "terrible" cause its not on for another 8 hours, 45 minutes. I will be back after I've seen it, though.

Looks like I might have to catch this one the day after. I'll be walking around streets Canvassing for the democratic party and getting doors slammed in my face.

"Well I was going to vote for him.......until someone knocked on my door at 8:30 pm"

Loved this episode. It was the best one so far. Hot girlfriend too. Looked her up. Name's Michelle Borth. The steaks also looked good but he's gonna burn 'em with those flames.

Did McGarrett just shoulder-throw a 300 pound man? :wtf:
Looked like a move that could have broken the guy's back the way he landed on that crate.

"Mom, look a mermaid!" Yeah, good episode. They're coming together as a good team and relying on each other to do the job now. Wonder if we'll see Masi Oka's character again?

Yeah, this one was a pretty good one. Probably the strongest so far. I like this show. It's not deep, and it's very "threat of the week," but it's fun.

Anybody else getting the strong "Magnum" vibe with McGarrett calling in favors from his Navy contact?

yeah but Magnum was sleeping with his? (never really watched it so don't know if Magnum's contact was male or female or as good looking :)

Though as a Commander wouldn't he get busted for sleeping with a junior office (I get the impression the relationship goes back to his navy days or is only fratensiation if there are in the same chain of command).

Something I didn't know - Alex Loughlin is an Australian.

McGarrett is in the Reserves, so he's not an active duty officer, so I don't think there's a problem. Even if he wasn't inactive, it's doubtful he's in her chain of command, so again, probably wouldn't be a problem.

.
There were three main contacts. The Marine colonel who was his boss and still saw magnum as one of his assets, Mac who was killed but then later his double was a reoccurring character and Maggie who replaced Mac as his main contact. I never got the feeling that Magnum went for Maggie, even if she wanted it.

Ok, Coroner Hiro needs to be a regular character.

I don't know he just seemed weird for weird's sake. Like Abby of NCIS. Tone the act down a notch IMO.

What was with McGarrett saying shouldn't this be a HPD case? Like 5-0 has a normal case? It reminded me of the different police agencies trying to pass off the dead prostitutes to each other in The Wire[/l]'s second season. Finally cops yelling out their agency name when on a raid. First it was NCIS when nobody would know who that was now McGarett and Kono yelling out 5-0 when it is brand new and not street slang for police for the past 20 years.

Loved how Masi Oka’s character’s name was “Max Bergman.” Just ... incongruous name and face. And I hope he stays as a recurring character. Not every episode, but enough to keep him visible.

Didn’t anyone else recognize the big bad as Ken Tanaka from Glee? Between these two roles (and didn’t he sing in Glee in an episode with the guys?), he’s shown a nice amount of acting range. Hope he gets the credit for it.

The interplay between McGarrett and Danno is really improving. And McGarrett’s “smiles” being caught by Danno ... I made sure Hubby watched the dvr. Knew he’d get a good laugh.

Why would it be a Five-0 case? Just another possible homicide, till the body was IDed. The politcal and personal connection to the Guv is why Five-0 is called in. They hardly have the man power to handle every body that turns up dead.

There was no "Hawaii Five-0" TV series in this universe, so why would "5-0" become street slang?

In the early years of CSI they seemed to be having trouble deciding what to yell out. One episode, Nick entered a suspect stronghold and yelled "Criminalistics!" :wtf:

That's my point so when McGarrett goes to the shooting board to awnser why he fired and is asked did he identify himself as police is he suppose to say I yelled 5-0 or NCIS, or Crime lab

I assume Law Enforcement knows what 5-0 is. There was probably a memo or email sent. Has he or the others IDed themselves as "Five-0" to civilians? I recall them flashing badges to civilians and only mentioning they were "Five-0" to cops.
