Just a heads up for the aussies -

Thursday November 4th - Sylvester's much maligned debut story Time and the Rani

Then on December 2nd we get an early Christmas, with the release of The Complete 5th Series on dvd and bluray and The Seeds of Doom (one of my all time faves) AND Revisitations 1 (special edition (re)releases of Talons, Caves AND the 1996 McGann movie).

This will be the first ever release of The Movie in region 4! December is going to be a great month!

It's likely to get better for you guys if the reports of BBC Video/2 Entertain syncing up worldwide releases to occur within the same week beginning in 2011 (including Region 4) come to pass.

Alex

Seriously - Commonwealth Games are a bit overrated anyway, and this time around particularly, I think most ppl here are not all that interested.

When you have the elite of a country who can't even house and feed a good portion of their population spending millions on such frivolous activities in a twisted attempt to impress their colonial allies, it kind of detracts from it all.

Of course we are doing well, but considering the money we spend on it, we ought to do bloody well (we have a national institute devoted to sports training complete with world class facilities and staffed by sporting talent recruited from the global sporting elite). We may punch above our weight per capita, but pit us up against the USA, Russia, China etc like in the olympics and we don't fare quite so well.

But I digress (just a little)..

We've been pushing for something similar to your institute yet it always becomes "the next guy's problem".

But I digress too...

No, this is cool! Keep talking. I like hearing foreign politics discussed. Seriously! :techman:

In our case, it took the national embarrassment of the 1976 Montreal Olympics where Australia failed to win a single gold medal before the PM at the time (Malcolm Fraser) decided on the need for the AIS.

And in our case it's Australia thumping us in virtually every Olympic or Commonwealth Games since then. :D

What were we talking about? Doctor what? :)

well the solution is for NZ to become a part of Australia. :)

Since this thread is for the Australians and the Kiwis. Did anyone else see Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and Paul McGann in Melbourne over the weekend.
