Sovereign-Class Photo-Manip Request

Can somebody make a quick photo-manipulation of the Sovereign-class, just shorten the whole length of the ship, keep the width and depth the same so the ship would have a circular saucer?

snagged this from startrekschematics and squished it

USS Glenn,

Not exactly well versed with the complexities of copyright or intellectual property law, can I use that image?

Probably no.

Squishing and uploading it to a different website already probably violated the copy and distribution rights of the actual owner.

Plus, unless I'm mistaken you forgot to not squish the fore/aft views in the process... ;)

Or you could just get an official image of the Sovereign, squish it in GIMP, upload it to your site and trust they won't sue you in the same way they don't sue me for creating meshes.

Huh, didn't think about that. I didn't mess with attribution on the image to avoid that sort of rights problem.

The funny thing is, when I first watched FC, with the shooting angles, I swore the damn saucer was that shape.

If the owner placed the image in a public forum AND the person using the image isn't using it for personal financial gain or passing it off as their own work, AND if the image has been manipulated to such an extent that it is not the original image, he can use it without permission. Much like the creator of the manipulated image based his image on the works commissioned by paramount, in this case, the E-E. Without permission by paramount to use that image, joe artist can't make a dime off of it, but he can draw it as much as he desires.

I used to be an archivist for a national organisation.
