Doctor Who Series Five Soundtrack or Lack of One

The soundtrack is excellent, although I'm slightly disappointed that two of my favourite tracks from TEoT - the opening to Part 1, and the music underlying the sequence where the Time Lords arrive on Earth and the Doctor pilots the Vinvocci ship towards the Naismith mansion - aren't on there. It's understandable in a way, as they're both reworkings of already released themes ("The Greatest Story..." and the Doctor's theme), but they're much more epic in their appearances in TEoT.

I hope the Series 5 soundtrack isn't delayed - as it is, it's coming out the same day as the boxset, and I like that synchronicity - but if it ends up being a double-disc release because of it, I won't mind all that much!

There were itunes exclusive bonus tracks that were released. I think one was called "The March of the Cyberking" and another one...yeah there are always music missing from these discs that should be there but for one reason or another aren't.

I looked for this on iTunes this morning and couldn't find it... is it available in the USA yet?

I looked on iTunes yesterday too, but it isn't released in North America till November, so I doubt it'll appear before then.

Amazon has the specials soundtrack listed for North America release November 9th, the same day as the series five DVD is released as has been mentioned before and the series five soundtrack is released in the UK. No date has been given for the series five soundtrack in North America yet though.

RATS!

I want that soundtrack!

Awesome! I can't wait. I can only hope it's better than the Specials album (with the exception of a handful of tracks, it's mostly forgettable for me).

Yeah essentially the End of Time disc is worth it for me and honestly the only reason why I wanted the specials soundtrack in the first place. Series Five (seeing as how the thread title is inspired by it) is what I really cared about. Just some awesome music from Murray this past season.

Damn beaten in my own thread! Anyways yes, this is going to be the best out of all the previous albums I think. I don't think we've had selected music from EVERY episode before. This is going to be exciting!

Sounds like Gold and Silva Screen finally took the criticisms over the brevity of the early soundtracks to heart! I assume "Doctor Who XI" refers to the revamped theme (which I happen to like so will be happy to have on CD).

Maybe this will bode well for "special edition" reissues of the early albums.

The only sad thing is in my part of the world Silver Screen releases rarely turn up in the retailers. Never mind places like Best Buy that are all but phasing CDs out, but even places like HMV. Silva Screen's Prisoner releases for some reason were everywhere back in the 90s, but I always have to order the DW releases, sometimes even from a UK retailer as a couple of times Amazon Canada hasn't carried the soundtracks when I've wanted them. (I checked; Series 5 isn't listed, while the Specials set is listed with a November 9 release date.)

Yeah the series five soundtrack hasn't been listed in North America yet. My guess is that it won't be for a couple of months.

I can't stop listening to "The Fate Of Little Adelaide." I really love that track.

This is awesome news about the S5 score. I do believe this will be the first DW soundtrack I physically buy....whenever it shows up in N.A.
