Possible third Hulk movie with Ruffalo?

The first two weren't exactly huge hits but the second one was moving in the right direction. I wonder if they'll continue the Leader storyline from the last film, it'd be interesting to have brains vs. brawn (and if Hulk needs a sparring partner, there's always those plastic robots Leader builds).

I enjoyed the last movie (and even some of the Lee movie) so I'd quite happily see another. I still wish Norton was back though. But unless The Avengers is a huge hit and there's great response to Hulk's role in it, it's hard to see how viable a third bite at this green cherry is.

This is exactly what I said they'll do. I wouldn't be surprised if Norton's HULK is swept under the carpet and ommited from the inevitable boxset of all the movies.

Hopefully they'll recast Betty Ross.

I liked the look of the Hulk itself(himself?) in the Ang Lee movie more than the design of him in the Edward Norton movie.

I really enjoyed "The Incredible Hulk" and have watched it multiple times, I also enjoyed Ang Lee's "Hulk" and got what he was attempting to do with the character but that's not what fans expect out of a Hulk film. I am sure that when Ruffalo signed his contract with Marvel Studios that there was a clause in there for another Hulk movie. I hope they continue on from "The Incredible Hulk".

Loved the first Hulk movie but felt the second, although certainly more commercial, was somewhat cynical in its approach - just "ticking boxes" in order to attain that very commerciality. Not sure how I feel about a third attempt.

Maybe they should stay away from the TV show influence and do something like Planet Hulk (Which was recently done as an animated video). Sure, the TV series was well-liked, but it wasn't that true to the comics.

I'd love to see them pick up from The Incredible Hulk, they basically have to as that film has beats that tie directly into the Avengers set-up.

The biggest problem with The Incredible Hulk is, again, they did not establish a personality for the Hulk himself. Even at his most savage and dumb downed version the Hulk has the intellect of a 5/6/7yr old child. We need a fully realized Hulk. They did it with Abomination and Fox will have to with their CGI Thing so Marvel may as well get on board with it for Avengers and any third Hulk movie.

Technically there have only been 2 theatrically released Punisher movies in the US&Canada.
I'm sure most of us have seen the '89 Lundgren movie but Carloco went bankrupt before it could be released in North America. It was released in some international markets.

^ I saw it on video yeeeeeeeaaaaars ago. Can't remember if it got a cinema release in the UK and Ireland. It turns up on obscure satellite channels occasionally. Not really worth looking out for, though there are some nifty martial arts fights and graphic death scenes.

Well, they did have the Hulk speak once in the climactic action ("Hulk smash," of course), and the end of the film implied that Banner had gained control and was willingly bringing on the change. Those could be steps toward the portrayal of a more intelligent, verbal Hulk in his next screen appearance.

Though I saw Ruffalo recently in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and it seems that Whedon's vision of Bruce Banner is very different from what we've seen before. Ruffalo is very unlike Edward Norton. It would feel odd as a continuation.

Would it be weird to see Ruffalo's Banner alongside the actors from The Incredible Hulk? I liked that movie a lot, but Ed Norton's presence (and his re-writing of the script) had a lot to do with that. I guess I would need to see how Ruffalo fares in The Avengers before determining whether or not I'd like to see him in a future standalone Hulk movie.

Yeah, it's not exactly the most obvious replacement you can think of. But as has been pointed out, The Incredible Hulk ties in with Iron Man and its sequel, which ties in with Thor, which will tie in with Captain America, all of which will tie in with The Avengers. So one can only assume that any further adventures of the jolly green giant will be intended as a sequel to TIH.

The Punisher was made by New World Pictures (which specialized in low budget films). They went belly up in the late 80s/early 90s. Carolco Pictures financed big budget films, some of them huge hits, but they went bankrupt in the mid-90s after the disastrous performance of Cutthroat Island.

Well, given that Banner's a shapeshifter anyway, maybe he just figured out how to morph into a different human appearance?

Not sure that'd work here, though. And I agree that any talk of a sequel movie is premature until we see what Avengers does with the character.

Heck, why even bother explaining the change? We had three different Kitty Prydes (Kitties Pryde?) in three movies. Not to mention Jim Rhodes and Rachel Dawes changing appearance without explanation. Or Elizabeth from Back to the Future, or Saavik, or Dumbledore, or Darrin Stevens, or James Bond. Recasting actors without explanation is a long tradition. I was simply saying that Ruffalo seems so wildly different from Norton that it might be harder to accept the transition. (Or maybe it's just that I didn't find him very likeable in Eternal Sunshine. I don't mind a big change if it's to an actor I like better, like Don Cheadle replacing the disappointing Terrence Howard as Rhodey, but as for Ruffalo, I'll need to be convinced.)

I'm not saying the throwaway line would be needed, only that it could be funny in a brief, low-key kind of way, and that since they're all mutants anyway, they'd be in a much better position to get away with such a fondling of the fourth wall than the Bond, BttF or even Iron Man (since Rhodey's fully human) franchises.
