Just checked. It is down for me. I got a message that said

I could but he doesn't seem to check his email as often as he checks Facebook messages.
It hiccuped for me, but I'm not having any problems. Strangely, www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com says that it's down. Maybe one or more of their servers is offline, but the one my account uses is okay?
Edited to add: okay, now I'm getting an internal server error (no meaningful indication of what it is, though.)

So I'm not the only one experiencing problems with facebook at the moment.
Yeah, facebook is a convenient tool. There's no reason to hate it just to spite it because it screws the rest of us over.
My old college was on MSNBC tonight and I felt like talking to people about it.

When my son was living at home - I would send him messages via Facebook asking him to put the put out the trash or to make a cup of coffee.
Yeah, it's down for me as well. My grandma would be devestated if Facebook didn't come back, she seems to think it's the only website on the internet since somebody set it as her homepage. If I tell her to search for something on Google she says, "okay now where is that button on my Facebook page?"

yeah, it's finally working. Too bad I think everybody is going to bed. 
Indeed it's back for me. I had loads of people on facebook, who know only via facebook, and I generally like to keep my email private.
I hope so. I can't stand the site design. The smart thing to do is what MySpace did and just have the taps be movable so everythnig can be customized by you.
However don't most people use the mobile site? So unless that is redone too I doubt this matters.
