Being Erica - Season 3

Just my speculation... Now that its out in the open that phase 3 is Erica being a therapist, television trope demands that Erica now has a different fate. The final scene, where Nadia wanted Erica in phase 2 (and not all of Dr Tom's patients) sort of confirms my suspicion that there's more to Erica's destiny than meets the eye.
Yeah, I'd say it safely falls under Sci-fi, considering Dr Who often does the same thing. It's more sci-fi than not.

I noticed that the doors all have different designs. Maybe Dr. Tom asked her to choose a door so that she'll have one that will be uniquely hers.
I preferred the season 1 opening. It's more creative than your typical "clip intro".

Maybe they switched to the clip intro so that people tuning in would get a taste of what the show actually looks like.
I've always thought that it needed a better station. Maybe it can get one now.
Didn't think of that. I still hope that we'll get to see "Dr. Erica" at some point. Can't imagine what they can do that'll be a better development or twist. ***If you're reading this Trekker, I guess the cat's out of the bag. She's in training to become Dr. Erica.***

I've always seen the show's spirit as being closer to fantasy than scifi.

You know, you might be right. It might be a point of just picking a door that suited her personality.
It would have been fun if the door led to her being on the flip side of things as Dr Erica, if only temporarily as a jump into the future that Dr Tom takes her to. At this point in time, it's always been in the past that she's been to, so it would have been interesting to see. Walking into her own office with a client who needs therapy.
Well, you'll note that in the S1 intro all of the Erica that come out of the doors are dressed as the various time periods Erica will take on (except for the one where she goes in the distant past to meet her parents as teenagers.) So that intro wouldn't really work for the second season unless they re-shot it and had the season planned out enough they knew what costumes to have Erin/Erica wear.

On the spoilers, that seemed pretty much telegraphed to me, mostly in the scenes with Dr. Tom and Dr. Stuffy Post-Modern Office. So, I guess it's not so much a spoiler as it is "I was right."
I'm a bit late, only just got around to watching the premiere on CBC.ca.
Definitely agree with what some folks are saying; this wasn't the show's best episode. I think it kinda suffered from feeling like a second pilot, seeing as it had to introduce a bunch of new concepts. We'll just have to wait and see how the season plays out, I guess.

Yeah, I wonder if he'll show up throughout the whole season. Then again, he's not listed as any of the characters. Would be nice if they made him a recurring role though.
This current episode was better than the premiere. Didn't suffer from trying to introduce too much. Really like the Coffee shop couple, and I find it interesting that they're going in the direction of giving her sister a new boyfriend.
I'm watching Season 2 on DVD now, from my ultra-rapid shipped set. I've only seen half of this season, so these early episodes are new to me. Erica's/Erin's "Coyote Ugly" get-up in the first episode: 
Yeah, I thought Being Dr Tom was a great 2nd season opener. Great episode.
If you love it, I bet you'll love one of the later episodes that focuses on Dr Tom again.

One of the favourite shows in our house, I was always surprised there was never a thread here and mulled over starting one from time to time.
I was underwhelmed by the season opener, and then realized I felt the same way last year. Season 2 the Nadia scene and the Dr Tom backstory were kind of jarring, unexpected and didn't fit with what I'd been expecting of the show. As the season went on it got back in pace and nothing disappointed, so I hope this season will be the same way.
Must say I'm underwhelmed by the group therapy group, there's no one there I'm dying to get to know they way Kai hooked me last year. I would think that they all had been through as much/more therapy as Erica and they seem to not have their shit together at all. But we'll see.
Love the coffee shop owners too. I go by that building daily and I was in the production office of Being Erica today by chance.

You'd think over the course of a day or so the baby would've fallen asleep just out of being, well, tired or needed a bottle or something. Also the people around Erica seemed a little to dismissive of the baby. You'd think, being adults, they'd understand. And don't get me on Judith on her rigid baby schedule and her anti-binky tirade.
I think that's really the weakest episode that and probably the one where she goes back to high-school and discovers one of her "friends" had an affair with a teacher. The "friend" showed some real, ugly, nasty character traits and you'd think Erica would've realized what a bitch her friend is and just been done with her. (In spite of what was going on in her real life.)
And, God, I just hate Josh to no ends.
But, man, do I love Erin.

A company I worked for had sent me for this type of management training and I can tell you the first group session is always scary. It is a new experience, you don't know anyone and you don't know what to expect. Most people just throw up a wall, or shrink into the background, or divert the really personal questions. I'm surprised by the amount of spunk Erica showed on her very first group session, its impressive.
Wow, this episode was uncharacteristically dark for the show itself, and I don't think I liked it too much. And again, I felt like the partner was getting in the way as he didn't originally belong there and I don't think their idea is working. The partners don't really add anything.
^ I liked the stuff with Leo, and the partnership worked alright for me. The only part of the season that isn't as interesting as it should be is Erica's new publishing business. It's not bad, just not super exciting, so far anyway. Now the ending... Wow! I didn't expect that. And the preview for next week? Double wow! Oct. 12th can't get here soon enough.

The episode though was rather violent. It just took me back to being bullied and gave me an upset stomach.
As for Leo, I haven't seen all of the first season, so I don't really know.
WTF? I didn't think Kai would be back. I didn't think he could remember her anyhow. The way they had set things up with the season finale seemed to say they were done with him.
