Muse - Tour 2010

So.. Caught Muse in Albuquerque (well, Rio Rancho actually) this past Friday and was blown away. Fantastic sound (despite being in a hockey arena) and GREAT stage presence. The lights, lasers and choreography (for lack of a better term) were fantastic. The giant eyeballs were a nice touch as well.

The opening act, Passion Pit, was only "meh" but Muse blew me, the wife and our 13 year old daughter away.

I've always had a fondness for Muse, but this sealed the deal. What a fantastic show.

I'm VERY jealous of those who will catch the shows starting next week, as one of my other current fave bands, "Metric" will be the opener.

Not familiar with Muse? Take Rush, Marillion, Coldplay and mash 'em together for some neoprog that sets a new standard.

They are an amazing live band, always have been. I've seen them in a pub just before their first album was released, they were just as tight then as they are now.

For my money the HAARP dvd is one of the best live performances ever caught on film.

I know Muse are coming to Australia later in the year. Pity I can't afford to see them. It will be interesting to hear if there are any new songs when they play.

Lucky bastard.:p I remember listening to Sunburn when it was first released here, and hearing a live performance on the radio. That is when I became a fan of Muse.

So true.

I'm not usually one for concert DVDs (I have all of Rush's purely out of loyalty), but I may check out HAARP based on the feedback..

^ You should. It's truly awesome.

I admit I gave this tour a miss, partly because they didn't come anywhere near me, and partly because I don't like The Resistance at all. However they filmed two nights at Wembley last month which might be worth a look in on DVD provided the second night is the DVD. Far superior setlist to the first night.

Oh come on, Muse are way better than that. I love Muse, they might be might favorite current band out there. Sadly, I don't think they'd be coming back to my neck of woods any time soon...
