The End of Time on Instant Netflix!

I've been waiting for them to add it to their instant library, and now it finally is! I just found out how I'm going to spend the rest of my evening.

Yes... I had just explained to my wife that we would have to wait for the actual discs for the last episode with David Tennant. Then, all of a sudden it was in my instant queue. We finished "Waters of Mars" last night, so tonight we say goodbye to our favorite doctor. (We're without Cable/satellite/OTA TV, so we've been watching it all for the first time on Netflix. After tonight I'll be ready to discuss this Matt Smith guy. :techman:

What is Netfix, I'm guessing something like BBC iplayer or 4OD and is it only available State side of the Internet?

Netlfix is a DVD rental company, they mail DVDs to you.

In the past few years, they have been moving into Instant Streaming online. You have to be a member and I think it's only available in the US. But maybe Canada too.

But maybe Canada too.

If what I've been reading is correct, yes and no. They opened in Canada two or three weeks ago, but they do not rent dvds there, it's streaming only in Canada. In the US, it's rental of dvds and blu-rays via the mail, and unlimited streaming.

and unlimited streaming.

Sweet sweet unlimited streaming... The wife and I have been feeding our doctor who obsession for $12 a month. The only problem is the damn unreliable AT&T internet connection.

For instance, in Journey's end Donna was reaching for the glowing hand and then boom, red-screen of death. (when the internet connection drops, you get a red-screened Netflix message that your connection has slowed, but it's re-adjusting. Of course, the progress goes nowhere because the connection is actually dropped.)

That lead to some fun speculation while we reset the DSL modem though. We noticed that Donna had a large ring on her finger just before the red screen. I suspected that when the show came back the regeneration energy would interact with Donna and the ring and Donna would die as her body was taken over and regenerated into the Master. The Master, looking out mainly for his own new skin, would save the day where the Daleks were concerned and then be set up for a whole story arc of hunting down and dealing with the Master.

RoJoHen, was the picture in the wrong aspect ratio for you? Everyone was short and fat for me.

We only got through part 1 last night. With all the interruptions we had, we finished it about the time we were supposed to finish the whole thing.

I've been watching DW & TW on Netflix streaming. I had to get the last couple of specials on DVD though. Glad they finally added them.

I wish they would add SJA to the streaming section too. Haven't seen that yet.

They also stream a fair amount of classic DW too. I've re-watched a few and some hold up better than others.
