new harry potter deathly hallows trailer

yeah, because it is.

I remember being bored to tears halfway through the first film. And I got so sick of condescending "magic" theme music. Now, they have it going with full bass! The whole series can't seem to get past the limits of the paper-thin artifice it has created. It doesn't help, that, in the films I've seen, the characters and events are boring, uninteresting, and too broadly acted.

Oh man, I'm pumped! I haven't read the novels, and somehow I have managed to remain completely unspoiled about how the story ends. So excited for November!

This actually makes me a bit more optimistic. I was really worried about part 1 being incredibly boring, but this looks relatively action packed, so that's good. The first half of the last book was so slow, so I really don't mind if they add some new stuff to work out the pacing.

Oh and RoJoHen, I can't believe you didn't hear how Harry had to remove a stone from a glowing hole in the ground while Voldemort was taunting him in the form of Dumbledore. And then the whole thing reset itself and Hogwarts became the stage for all the characters to meet before they moved on.... crazy stuff.

Edit: And that scene where Harry, Ron and Hermione are fighting in the trailer prompted Harry to make a long speech about living together or dying alone. Very moving.

Sounds awesome!

I thought Dumbledore and Harry had to go back to 1955 to steal a book from young Voldermort. Dumbledore was in the Hogwarts train when Voldermort strikes it with lightning sending it back to 1885!

I remember reading the final book thinking this is just stretched out and padded too much, then I learn they're making two movies!

I'm really worried about what they're gonna do, especially as much of the first half features Ron whining like a baby.

The first film has been described as a "road movie", with a verite style and a very loose, fast pace. The director, David Yates, said he approached it unlike a typical Harry Potter movie since it will be the first movie to not take place entirely at Hogwarts. The second film will supposedly be more of a traditional epic film, but his comments toward the first film got me excited since I think it could be something fresh and new for the franchise.

Surprisingly, I'm really looking forward to this. I haven't been a big fan of the Harry Potter movies because I didn't think they were the best of adaptations beyond the actors. The Deathly Hallows is my favorite book of the series and I have to say the trailers have me filled with a lot of hope for the films.

As a fan of the books and the films I've been looking forward to this...I got goosebumps seeing the argument in the tent between the three friends. It's a pretty critical element in the final book. The trailer looks fantastic.

That looks really freaking cool. I was worried when they announced that the book would be split into two movies because I thought the first one might not have much going on, but this looks very promising. But was it actually filmed in 3D Avatar-style, or is this just going to be another crappy afterthought conversion?

I hope those effects aren't finalised. the thing at 0:16 looks like a screensaver. I can't even figure out what it's meant to be.

eta: Oh I see, it's Dumbledore's tomb. But seriously, it's just a textureless box. And the lightening isn't anything write home about either.

As long as they have Neville Longbottom aka The Badass leading Dumbledore's Army i'm fine with the movie :):techman:

Seriously.. if he doesn't go to town with Gryffindor's sword i'm going to be mightily pissed!
