Enterprise Incident

Capt Josh

Ensign
Red Shirt
While watching Spock and the Romulan Commander (called Charvanek if you follow treklit:Vulcan Heart) it made me wonder is it possible that Spock and her had sex off screen? She was odviously smitten with him, what if she became pregnant with Spock's child and there is a Vulcan/Human/Romulan child out there?

Nah, I'm pretty sure Spock used a bifurcated condom, because he feared space AIDS. ;)

Besides, would we really want to see all three Vulcan, Human and Romulan gene pools in one individual? :p

When TWOK first came out, I often wondered if Saavik being half Vulcan and Romulan might have been their child. With Kirstie Alley's rounded eyebrows like a human, it made you wonder just a bit. But 15 years or less for Saavik to make it all the way in the Academy to a Lieutenant kind of pushes it. Then the novel adaptation comes out with all this backstory about Spock finding her orphaned on Hellgaard pretty much tosses that idea out the door.

There really wasn't time based on what we saw on screen. They met, had dinner, talked some, the Commander left for a moment and then Spock signaled Kirk.. Tal picked up on the signal and immediately went to find the transmitter.

That theory never occured to me but if not for novels that would have been very interesting. Although that does leave the door open for Valeris to be that child ;)

That would make a Petty good story if the original series was still round, But do you think they have Sex like we humans do or do they do something totally different.

"Charvanek" may be rare, but it hardly strikes me as "beautiful". Sounds more like a good name for a private detective on a mid 70's Quinn Martin show.

They definitely shared an intimate moment, but whether they had intercourse or not, who knows? It doesn't really matter for the purposes of the story.

Well, there is that scene where their fingers caress each other and she seems to be really excited about that. I realize their minds are joining but the countless times that Spock mind-melded with others, they never seemed so euphoric about it. So, he was definitely doing something special with the Romulan commander. I think that whole finger touching scene is their version of getting it on.

Vulcan foreplay. Telepathic stimulation of the pleasure center of the brain.

Was is just foreplay? I sometimes wonder that that was the whole deal. I think they only have what we would call full on physical sex when the male is going through the pon farr or, as we have learned from the Cloud Minders, when a really hot number gets them going (I don't think he dug the Romulan Commander quite as much as he did Droxine).

Pon farr is the only time Vulcans have to have sex, but they are fully capable of engaging in sexual activity any time they bloody well want to.

As for the question of "did they or didn't they?", for God's sake, look at the freaking episode! When the hell did they have any time to actually do anything?

Ok, so Spock mentally got it on with the ever delicious Romulan Commander?

That's acceptable....

Don't get me wrong, if Tal had just waited another, oh, fifteen minutes or so, I think a certain Starfleet uniform and floral print gown would've been strung across the furniture with Spock and the unnamed commander engaging in some unique forms of Vulcan/Romulan diplomatic maneuvers, but what we got here is coitus interruptus in extremus.
