I don't like the odd way this episode is being edited. (Mostly the quick-cuts to commercial) It worked for last season's finale and some other episodes but it doesn't fit the tone of this episode.

Hard cuts to commercial seem to have become pretty standard in TV these days. The old "fade in/fade out" doesn't seem to happen much anymore.

It is refreshing that they finally redid the titles and promoted Jacobsen and Wilde to full regulars. It's particularly reassuring to see Wilde's name there, given the leave she's about to take.

Nice to see a departure from the formula. There's still a medical puzzle to solve, but it's not a patient-of-the-week with an intractably exotic and life-threatening problem, it's a fellow doctor and it's a less extreme crisis played for laughs. The main problem being analyzed is the new House-Cuddy relationship.

And yeah, they did show us a remarkable amount of Cuddy skin here. None of the usual TV stuff where the woman in a post-coital scene inexplicably has a bra or camisole on, or has the covers hiked up two feet higher than the guy does. It was, err, refreshing.

The Cuddy skin was much, and appreciated, in this episode. Wow!

Not much on the "medical mystery" front and, yes, I do hope to see Olivia back. Seemed like this episode was mostly here to tie things up from last year's finale and I hope next week we get a bit more into the medical mystery stuff. I'd say it was a "Good" episode, lifted from "Average" thanks to the Cuddy Skin and the way they really handled the two deciding to have a relationship together. Cuddy's saying how she felt about House at the end was a bit touching and House probably delivered his first, genuine, words ever when he said "I love you."

Wonderful episode! As already mentioned, I love the break in formula and spent a whole episode focusing on the new House/Cuddy relationship. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't to see how this relationship grows.

I also can't wait to see the look on Wilson's face when he finds out the relationship is real. :D

For a woman of 44, I must say, Lisa Edelstein is just gorgeous.

No doubt

It was a nice start to the season with a small character pieice rather than the patient of the week nearly dying about 6 times throughout the episode. I still remain in my opinion that House should end after 7 but we all know it will go at least 8 and to drag it out they will mess up the HUDDY thing.

Did anybody else notice Jennifer Morrison in one of the scenes shown in the season teaser at the end? Anybody heard anything about that appearance?

Excellent episode but this should really be the last season. Now that they've played the Huddy card, they are in endgame.

Near as I can see, JM isn't credited with an appearance this season. I do believe House is going to take on another fellow to replace Thirteen while she's on leave. It's possible this woman simply looked enough like JM in the quickly edited teaser to make you think it was her.

Still waiting for more info but the numbers for House appears to be the lowest season debut since the pilot...

10.5 million ish but the demo was above 4.0, However if the normal erosion occurs we could see House drop dangerous close to series lows, which is the pilot episode I think. (7 million ish)

Definitely enjoyed it being a character piece. Favourite moment was Wilson getting stuck in the window.

I enjoyed it as well although i felt a bit "down" by the end of it. I think i was hoping for a little more joy now that Huddy is real, but the way they played up the "can this work" angle was too much of a downer for me. Although we do know this will NOT be an easy relationship.

And as much as i would hate to see the show end, i do think this should be the last season.

How will House explain the scrotal burns caused by using his laptop while naked in bed with Cuddy?

Shock at the lack of an L shaped blanket throughout the episode aside, I thought Day 1 of Huddy played out realistically. House isn't even sure if it's real and they both have massive reservations about the whole situation coupled with the cave-in ordeal they both just went through. i'm not sure I'd buy them as the lovey-dovey-wovey couple in joyous, blissful love out of the gate.

The way they covered the actors in the sex scenes was nice and fairly realistic. And, yeah, if I had my laptop on my lap while naked my sperm count would plummet and I'd have some nasty burns on my naughty bits.

I didn't see Morrison in the preview. I saw a woman that I assume is the Thirteen substitute.

Good episode. There's life in this show yet. The previews were actually more exciting than the episode, I think.

Are we already talking about what a hottie Lisa is? We are? Well OK then.

Her fertility injections in the ass House gave her in Season 3 whetted my apeptite, her strip-dance at the end of Season 5 caused my jaw to drop. And the other night? Good...god! I mean when she was hardly wearing a sheet? Wow oh my!

Wasn't too thrilled with the episode. I've always maintained that the show is at it's best when it sticks to the medical mystery formula. I especially didn't like the teaser. Too mushy. And aside from the House/Cuddy moments, the episode was reasonably entertaining.

I liked the quick cuts. they added an ominous feel to the show.

That she is, something that was especially noticeable with that nude side view in bed at the beginning when she and House started going at it. I did wonder if it was a stunt double though.

The neurosurgeon is Colonel Sandurz from Spaceballs! :guffaw:
I was wondering where I saw him before. I figured it was Three's Company or something.

Yeah, it's about time, but it looked like Olivia Wilde's name was squeezed in at the end.

Really? Fantastic. :bolian:

In the "House's Head" episode (where she did a strip tease) it was her. From what I read Lisa is pretty proud of her body/willing to show it off for the camera. So I doubt in this episode it was a body double.
