Will Sarah realise who 11 is?

Probably the thing I'm most curious about, and looking forward to in "Death of the Doctor". I have a feeling that this time it might get played for laughs. We've had the emotional reunion in "School Reunion" which was probably one of the best moments of the series to date. But I can see this time round it might be a bit sillier. I reckon something like they'll run into each other in the middle of whatever adventure they are both having. He'll just say "Sarah! What are you doing here!" and she'll say "Who are you?" and he'll say "Oh Sarah don't be stupid, it's me!" and that'll be it.

I don't see why she wouldn't realize who the Eleventh Doctor is...as you pointed out it didn't take long for her to realize who Ten was in "School Reunion" and the Tenth saved Luke from the car and the two shared a meaningful look in "The End of Time" so I would think that it will be fairly apparent who Eleven is.

She had to see the TARDIS first in 'School Reunion', though. If she hadn't seen it, his cover wouldn't have been blown.

You don't think she would've figured it out eventually ?

The way he kept gawking & grinning at her like a school-girl, plus the name John Smith .

Just personally, I think it would be really cool if the alien of the week tricked Sarah into believing the doctor is actually the evil alien. Not knowing he is actually the Doctor, Sarah accidentally causes the "death" of 11.

Sarah- It's you!

Doctor- Yeah!

Sarah- Bow tie?

Doctor- it's cool!

cue lots of running as it is written by Russell T Davies

But then you had her comment after the Doctor was introduced by the headmaster.

She was wondering what this John Smith the Doctor.

She was wondering was this John Smith the Doctor.

I don't think she was wondering at all. She just mentioned it as a reference point for the viewer. She simply saw the TARDIS, and then turned around and there was 'John Smith' (who, like her, was not supposed to be there) staring at her like Tom Baker's Doctor. Then, he says "Hello Sarah-Jane", like The Doctor. She knows regeneration, she's seen it happen. Thus, a brilliant mind like hers, she puts two and two together and BAM! She knows he's The Doctor...

I can't see Sarah having any problems at all. She's met three incarnations (more if you count The Five Doctors, though the implication in School Reunion is that event has been wiped from her memory), so she knows the score. What will be more interesting will be Jo Grant's reaction because while she probably was made aware of the Doctor's ability to regenerate while she was in UNIT, she's never seen it in action so she might have trouble reconciling that the young guy is the same person as the dashing dandy she knew.

Strictly speaking, Sarah's quintodoc experience need not have been wiped from her memory. She only met any other Doctors for moments before she was taken back to her time by the Third, and would have no idea if any of them WERE the Doctor, or in what order. When the Tenth met her and said he'd regenerated a half-dozen times sine they'd last met, it could equally have been him taking into account that her memory had been wiped, or simply that she'd have no idea who his other incarnations were and had not had much chance to "meet" them in the first place.

Anyway, I'm thinking the "who's that guy" schtick will have been covered by the Doctor and Sarah, so RTD will see little reason to do it again in a relatively short constraints of the episodes. I think Sarah will figure it out pretty quickly and keep the story moving - and like last year, this will be a SARAH JANE story, so whatever the Doctor will be doing there will be a relatively minor affair whilst allowing the heroine and her increasily sexy team of young adults to save most of the day.

Jo was with the Doctor during The Three Doctors and has met the second and over a screen the first.

Wait, are Jo and the Doctor in the same episode? I can't remember where I read it, but I thought that they'd be in different stories. It would be VERY cool for all three of them to be together, but is it not a lot of fangasm to pour into one episode?

And yes, while the Third Doctor gave a healthy dollop of vagueness in describing why there were two other Doctors (which at the time was not fully understood even to the producers) , Jo seemed to grasp the concept pretty easily and knew that the Doctor used to look weirder / older in the past, and somehow changed to look AWESOME by the time she met him. I'm sure Jo can extend that knowledge to adjust quickly if/when she bumps into Eleven.

Keep it simple. TARDIS lands outside Sarah Jane's house, she hears it and runs out. Door opens and 11 steps out.

Sarah Jane. "Oh."

11 nods, 'Yeah I did it again.'

"Looking downright sexy this time around Doctor! Would you care to come in for some ... tea? ;) "

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

And The Sarah-Jane Adventures takes on an entirely new demographic, and a sudden surge of 10-million viewers....

To which the Doctor replies (totally oblivious to the innuendo as usual), "Will there be Jammy Dodgers? :) "

Sarah-Jane: "Of course  "

"Sarah-Jane: A New Kind of Adventures"

Episode 1: "The Custard Dilemma  "

I think at this point that Sarah's relationship with the Doctor is such that she would just know who he is. You can really sense that connection there especially at the end of TEOT.
