Has anyone ever heard of that happening? A socio-cultural matrix with a standard of living so low, so educationally disadvantaged, that a relationship that produced offspring that were likely to be high achievers, and influence others by example and change the culture, in some small way, that that relationship wouldn't be allowed, would be stopped?

Could it happen in a ST episode? Could it happen in any country in this modern world?

But you do get a lot of people, in these sorts of places, or at least one of them, that are quite high up and wring their hands over the situation. And they do a lot to perpetuate it, even going to those lengths. Even miniscule change frightens them. Even one person not agreeing with the system, is one person too much.

Well, put it this way, you can get some people, who have very high status, because they are educational low achievers and understand a social system based on low acheivement, who can get the authorities to stop a relationship that would produce above average achieving offspring. Or even change a social system by example, by existing. It happens.

Try telling that to someone who has interacted with them. I've been beaten up for reading by one of them. And, everyone, apart from two or three people, thought it was hilarious. You can get places where it is highly unusual not to have an abusive or denigratory, relationship, by one or other of the partners, or one that will produce high achieving offspring that do not cower, that is socially unacceptable, even to the point of those who enforce the law, and not culture, step in.

It's dystopian. Or, perhaps, a rare mistake, in our 21stC world.

Once again, we have evidence that you are hanging around the scum of the Earth and have extrapolated that to the rest of the world. No, 90% of the population is not stupid, violent assholes. You apparently live in the UK, where the literacy rate is 99%, so the problems you are experiencing are not the norm.

What I don't get is exactly what is wrong with you. Almost all of your threads end up being about something terrible someone has done to you. Why are you around these people? Get the hell out! Your entire sense of reality has been warped.
