OK, I'm not afraid of Cockroaches. Generally speaking, if I see one, I'll just ignore it (plus, they're kinda hard to kill). My apartment apparently had one cockroach. I've looked to see any kind of infestation, but it appears to be OK. I first thought about trying to kill it, then I decided it would be too much work. I even thought about giving it a nickname (probably Kafka). I figured it couldn't really do anything to me, it stayed behind my desk and out of the way.

Then, about 10 minutes ago, it climbed up to the ceiling and dropped straight down onto my head. I think that crossed the line for me. Since it's still a pain in the ass to kill and it was still on my chair, I simply wheeled by chair into the hallway, scared it off, and brought my chair back inside. Now Kafka can go bug someone else instead.

Oh, I thought this thread was going to be about the Mexican song. Especially the marijuana part.

Must have been one of those notorious Australian drop roaches.

Generally I keep my place clean, and the outside of the building gets sprayed for bugs regularly, so I don't see too many cockroaches. But the rare roach that shows up in my crib gets no mercy. I always keep a can of Black Flag handy so I can send that six-legged fucker to cockroach heaven. I can't stand the crawly little things.

I hate them with a passion! When I lived in the ghetto, my apartment was infested with the devils. It made me want to burn the place down just to rid myself of them. I hate them!!!

BTW, I feel compelled to point out there was no pun intended in my last sentence.

You shouldn't have said that--you should've let everybody think you were really clever! I know I was impressed when I first saw that... ;)

Cockroaches...EW. I had one crawl up my leg in the shower. I have also been CHASED by roaches. BIG ones. So I'm like scotpens--I always keep a can of roach spray in the house just in case.

Seconded, though I must be a little slow, the pun went in one ear and out the other without registering.

Cockroach hard to kill you say? What about the old size 12's you got on your feet?

The cockroaches in New York are tough little bastards. They sit around passing a can of roach spray, taking hits off it and saying, “Hey, man, you cop a buzz yet?”

We see the occasional roach in Winter when the weather cools down and they move inside to get warmer. Now that we have the kitten though I anticipate that she'll scare them off and kill the bolder ones. A fly got inside and she was jumping all over the place after it like something out of Wild Kingdom.
