I'd say I disagree with the OP. Sure, that is the sterotypical view, but in my experience I've known several girs and women who have been very sexual, even more so then most men I know. I think it's just a very individual thing.
My problem has just been to get these girls to be sexual with me Which on a serious not, is probably more my "fault" then anyones else because of my insecurities, past and present.
Hell I know for a fact that there's been at least one girl in my past who where dying to have sex with me, but I declined because I was hung up on a girl who didn't even give me a fleeting thought. Had I been more realistic about that situation, I would surely have had some fun.

Hm. Well, while also a stereotypical truth, and sadly there is some actual truth to it, I can at least that I and most of my friends are not the kinds of guys that would brag about it. Sure we'd say that there was sex, but no real details.
There are still, even now in the alleged 21st Century, many gender myths that people subscribe to; the sexual appetites of men and women is only one. It ranges from men not asking directions and women being hard-wired for shopping to women not liking The Three Stooges and men not liking poetry. It's crippling to both genders. And the underlying reason that these myths are perpetuated is, as with most things, insecurity. People pick up and adopt these "masculine" or "feminine" behaviors as a substitute for their own identity; and, of course, criticizing the opposite sex for their so-called innate qualities gives them the illusion of superiority that they crave (also makes for easy jokes for lame comedians). Chauvinism is just like any other kind of prejudice.

From what I hear, it was only a decade ago, that women could actually admit to liking sex. Women can even admit to watching porn, now. They say they don't mind if their boyfriend watches it.
I think that a woman could even have two boyfriends at once. Men can. Wasn't there a Christina Aguilera song about it? Wouldn't bother me, as long as she got the hosepipe out, before it was my 'day'.
I long for the day when women can come right out and say it, which I think they can do in the US, ask for a date. Women can do it in the UK, I guess, but if they do, you are going to be a doormat for the rest of your life. That awful pause, when you are supposed to do the 'right thing' and basically tell her what to think, which is supposed to be gentlemanly, as they are all supposed to be chaste. Awful.

I think that Wally probably meant that women don't like the idea that men brag about it to each other, not that they have more discretion themselves.

Who says they can't? Men are usually more comfortable confiding in women than in other men. Of course, women are usually more comfortable confiding in women too. By any metric one cares to consider, women are the superior social sex; and that's reflected in everything from homelessness to suicide rates. To make an overly broad, sweeping generalisation: masculinity is the problem.

You do have some problems with some things, don't you? I've been asked out twice, and had no drinking money at the time. I don't think it's culturally as acceptable for women to to it, as in the US. I know some English guy who was amazed, when, after the Gulf War, as an admired Brit, he was offered a condom by an admiring US woman.
It may be because we are reserved, it may be because our women are still supposed to be chaste, but it is getting better. And, though I am not telepathic, and I sometimes wish I was, it is my distinct impression, that in some cases, the man is supposed to 'take the lead', to put it in the best way, and the woman is supposed to follow, meekly and subserviently.

What?? I think women are forgiven more easily for infidelity than men. Again, double standard, since women are "weak" and "emotional" and therefore easily plied into doing things they normally wouldn't.
That said, some women are way too forgiving of men who cheat on them, letting them do it repeatedly. I have one friend whose boyfriend cheated on her four times with the same girl, and even then she was still begging him not to break up with her. She finally came to her senses and dumped his ass, but still.
