How would you personally like that if that happens to you? If you have an argument with your girlfriend and the next day a totally distorted version of it is all over the news? And everywhere you go people have already made up their mind based on all the distorted shit they heard and read and treat you accordingly?

Yes, celebrity's private fuck ups end up in the mainstream news, because the mainstream is interested in shit like that (which is what I'm criticizing here). It's hypocritical and ugly.

And every time they want to promote their work, those silly interviewers always ask them about their private life and stuff that's happened already a couple of years ago. That's just insane.

The interviewer in that seems to be totally not interested in the interview, no connection, no interaction, just some drone asking questions with no interest in what they are doing, very poor interview indeed.

Celebrities by nature are public persons and as such they're going to get more publicity. Shocking as that revelation might be, it's a reality and that's not going to change. A celebrity is also an idol and a representation to their younger fans and to people who look up to them or aspire to be like them.

I'm not saying a celebrity must act a certain way but when they do it comes with consequences. Several celebrities have openly stated "don't be like me, don't act like me, I don't want to be an idol" and it goes ignored. The fact is if you act like an ass in public and people see it, they'll treat you accordingly, regardless of your celebrity status. You can't go around being a womanizer or a drug addict and tell your fans not to do it. It doesn't work that way. If you cleaned up your act, stopped it and turned around your life away from negative habits you can say don't be how I was.

Why are celebrities celebrities to begin with? Because of their work. Not because of their private life. So why would that now be of any business to anyone else just because they have become famous? That makes no sense and is a very arrogant attitude. They don't owe you anything just because you've seen them in a movie or heard them in a song, shocking as that revelation might be.

That's the point. What does "in public" mean? If a celebritiy talks crazy shit at home and someone runs to the news and makes a hyped up story out of it, that's not in public. That's private life. When a celebrity is stopped by the police for driving too fast, if a celebrity goes into a sex shop, or into a bar and gets drunk, if he takes his family to Disney world, etc... - that's all private business and shouldn't be of any interest. But of course, self-righteous media thinks they can do anything they want to anybody they choose.

Why do you think most celebrities do everything they can to protect their children from the media? Because it's just ugly.

How would you like to be followed all day long, just because people make that sick thought jump from "I like this guy's work" to "I need to know everything he does".

If an actor goes on a TV show or some other public event and then for instance "spews out bigoted bile", then yeah. But if he spews out bigoted bile somewhere at home, or only to a small group of people, i.o.w. in private, that's not of any interest.
