Got into a car accident yesterday

Some stupid driver choose to make a left turn while we had the right of way.

I'm driving through the green light when all of a sudden the other driver decides to turn as well.

So you've got our speed of 20 with theirs of at least 5 MPH

My shoulder's sore and i've got seat belt bruising around my neck

The diagonal lines in the middle are there to represent the cars positions after the accident

I'm the car/box at the bottom. My car's the sahara colored one

The force of it turned my car diagonal

The mirror reversed the angle of the bruise.

My passenger got chest bruising from the force of the stop. We we're going at least 20.

The driver at fault will pay for hospital visits and we're both covered.

In my personal experience bad things happen to me after Friday the 13th.

Good thing you're both OK. Question. Which of the two vehicles is yours? They both could pass for sahara color in that photo.

Glad you're okay. It's crazy how little people pay attention to their surroundings. Hope everything is taken care of soon, for you!

eek, sorry to hear that, if nothing else, have the insurance pay for a chiropractor visit or something too, and get checked out just in case

I got into a car accident... blah... blah... blah

SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM

blah blah blah

Only on this board.... *shakes head*

Hope the insurance sorts it all out quickly!

I'm glad you're okay. That could have been a lot worse. I've had a few close calls like that one-- I think they just give away driver's licenses in boxes of Fruit Loops now.

I did an assessment on someone the other day who was in possession of a valid driving license. Frankly, I would be terrified if I knew I was driving on the same street as him, but I didn't have the health grounds to block it. There are some dangerous people on the roads. :wtf:

That sucks. Hopefully the damage is merely cosmetic.

This is the same color and model of my CR-V. The area's in red are where the damage is.

The accident caused my door to be jammed so only a few inches of it can open up

The impact reverberated through that side.

Tomorrow, i'm getting the car back from the towing company. My dad suggested that the car be towed home then dealt with later.

In the mass confusion I just told them to tow it away. They said its cheaper than going back and forth from home and then the towing company.

Either way they still make money for the car being there.

Today i'm feeling sore in my arm and the upper back of my neck hurts.

Unfortunately, the way vehicles are made today even 'cosmetic' damages can get very involved and expensive with things like plastic fascias, etc costing hundreds or even a couple of grand.

Glad no one was injured. Was it a strong enough impact for any of the airbags to deploy? I know that it doesn't take much with some of them....

Why? He probably has three already.

ED: I got a good laugh out of the banner on that site. Fair and balanced are not two words I would ever associate with the ultra right wing Fox News...

^ Fox News isn't very right wing, much less ultra right wing. They only appear that way in relation to the rest of the American media which is far left.

For example, Americans are twice as likely to identify themselves as conservative (40%) instead of liberal (21%). In none of the fifty states do self-identified liberals outnumber self-identified conservatives. In contrast, a 2004 Pew Research poll found that journalists were five times more likely to describe themselves as liberal instead of conservative. That means that journalists are ten times more likely to be liberal than an average American. It is reflected in what they write (which might explain why Newsweek sold for one dollar).

Rasmussen's mid-June polling finds that 66% of Americans are upset with the media bias and 48% (and 56% of independents) think the media is covering for Obama. Only 15% of the public thinks the average reporter is more right-wing than they are (They're probably members of some 15% Marxist-Leninist block).

More evidence:

81% of the media voted for McGovern over Nixon (who won by 62%). Among the White House Press corps, all voted for Mondale over Reagan (Mondale got 13 electoral votes to Reagan's 525).

The other woman's airbags in her Ford Escape deployed. I heard she got some gash or something. She was crying and her husband in the passenger seat yelled

"You stupid! you hit someone!

Our airbags in the CR-V never deployed.

I was sore in my arms and muscles for a few days. I went to a clinic for a check up. It seems the muscle connecting to my arm was sore. I just needed to be prescribed muscle relaxants.

Makes sense. The media is all about seeing what's going on elsewhere, which is a bit more of a liberal trait. Conservative views tend to put more emphasis on the local than the distant in my experience.

All very interesting. Of course, 86% of statistics are made up on the spot.
