Although the format is unspecified, Fuller is adapting the John Christopher novel about two teenage boys living on the moon who decide to explore and find an intelligent plant-like being.

I love this, sight unseen! FINALLY skiffy has something worth rooting for. :bolian:

The teenage boys will probably be played by newcomers, but I'm sure there will be plenty of adult roles for actors we all like to tout...

Sadly, I've heard Lee Pace has another show on HBO (but only recurring! he could fit another gig in!).

If not him, then Alan Tudyk or Connor Trinneer would be good choices for the kind of actor who synchs well with Fuller's warm, starry-eyed style.

Actually there's really only one adult role of consequence in the novel. 'Warm and starry eyed' doesn't really fit with the novel either.

It fits with Fuller's way of doing things. I can't really see him doing BSG style sturm und drang. He should play to his strengths.

Given the lack of good teen acting talent, I hope Fuller takes liberties with the source material and creates whatever roles will tap into the talent available to him.

There's probably a lot of great teen acting out there, it's just that people don't know how to write for teens.

1. Whine endlessly
2. Blame your parents for everything
3. Storm off every night and get drunk

I'm not interested in a show where the characters are two teens and an adult! :rommie: A bit limited for an ongoing series. I'd imagine that Fuller will beef things up in that department.

The link in the OP says:

The nature of the format is unspecified, though Syfy often likes to develop miniseries as backdoor pilots with the option to turn it into a weekly series if successful (think Battlestar: Galactica).
