Star Trek - Hidden Evil - video walktrhough

Admin: Please fix my spelling mistake in the title. It's supposed to be, "walkthrough"

The game can be watched like a movie sequel to Star Trek Insurrection, and also the ST:TNG episode, The Chase. The voice acting by Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner should be a treat for all Trekkers who haven't seen it.

Just note that there are some graphical glitches. The only way I could get this game running was to build a Windows 98 machine from older computer parts at work. Unfortunately, Win98 screen recording is not the best, and some objects tend to flicker. The quality of the graphics in person were better than what is represented, but the result is quite watchable.

A playlist to all the videos can be found here:

Enjoy!

I liked the storyline. However, the playability and weird 3rd person-ish viewpoint was distracting. I did like the post Insurrection feel. :)

I found the perspective shifting a lot of fun for what is essentially a classic-style adventure game. Occasionally challenging but fun.
I loaded up this game a few months ago and played through the first bits of it. I don't have many problems with it in XP so long as software rendering is used. It's too bad it didn't also have at least an 800x600 mode.

I played this when it first came out and thought it had a better plot than Insurrection!

Some of the puzzles were a bit simple but apart from that I actually quite liked this game.

I remember how frustrating the controls were with this game. Made some of the levels a lot more challenging, and not in a good way. I still have it but couldn't get it to work with Vista.

Ditto for Vista. And unlike CaptainStoner above, many people including myself can not get it to run in XP in any mode.

The bad controls are really only a problem when fighting enemies. Most of them are not random however, so moves can be planned. (I hated those flying drones.) The ability to save the game at any point was pretty sweet, though I didn't use it much so I could make uninterrupted videos.

The game designers probably added perspective shifting intentionally to confuse the player. The mission areas are smaller than they appear when you first explore them.

It was somewhat disappointing that there weren't more of the TNG cast voicing their roles.
