Unimatrix Zero should of been used to change the Endgame Finale

I started rewatching Star Trek from TNG onwards ages ago and got to Voyager season 6 before taking a long break. I recently began finishing Voyager off and watched Unimatrix Zero the other day and it got me thinking about a different course the writers could to took after this episode.

Lets say Seven never mentioned the transwarp hub to Janeway and there is only one but still under construct by The Borg. The Endgame finale sees The Borg ready to put there new weapon into action that would allow them to bascially attack anypoint of the galaxy at anytime so the Borg rebels join forces with Voyager to prevent it, hell we could even throw in a 8472 armada too.

Voyager gets upgraded with new tech from there borg allies like better weapons, shields etc so we still have the better tech so Voyager can actually survive such a conflict and we can still use the hub as the means to get home but with no time travel and we have the knowledge The Borg have been smashed from there former selves.

I just love the idea that Unimatrix Zero could of given us more episodes about the civil war hinted at but never mentioned again come season 7 and a finale which sees a kick ass battle and Voyager getting home without using time travel or super future tech.

Interesting premise. I always wished we could have seen more of the BORG rebels, although throwing 8472 into the mix would have been too much. 8472 can wipe the floor with the BORG without any assistance from Janeway et al. It was Janeway and her nanoprobe missles they couldn't handle.

Now... there wouldn't be any C/7 in your finale, would there?

I think I would have preferred for Admiral Janeway to never have made an appearance. So, if your premise could work it so that it was solely Captain Janeway and crew destroying a potentially horrible threat to the Alpha Quadrant, I'd support it.

No. No, it doesn't.

On another note, I like your idea. I wish there had been more done with the Borg civil war, too, which is why I've been writing a fanfic series about it. But it really should have been done on the show.
