2 Entertain has apparently announced some of the extras for the UK release (which will undoubtedly be the same as the US release).

No mention of commentaries. I'm a fan of extras, but this thread is the first time I've ever seen anyone say they won't buy a set because of lack of commentaries alone. Instead we have video diaries which in my opinion are far more interesting. The Meanwhile in the TARDIS skits are confirmed. Plus they're including the Monster Diaries featurettes that are being included on the UK "vanilla" releases. And of course, the Confidential Cutdowns (remembering that in order to include all 13 complete Confidentials they would need to make this a 12-disc set, at least for DVD; all I care about is that Karen's visit to Greenwich and her and Matt's "interpretative dance" to the Doctor Who Theme are kept in. And all the interview footage of Neve McIntosh because, well, it's Neve McIntosh!).
The only disappointment is that there appears to be no sign of the charming Big Questions videos Matt and Karen made. I guess it's been decided to relegate them to long-term obscurity like the Tardisodes. I recently discovered they made a few Big Questions segments during the Specials year as well, and they never went on the DVD either. And I'm not surprised to see the Amy Pond game not included (then again, it hasn't been uploaded to the BBC website yet).
All that said, there's nothing in the report to suggest that's a complete list. And it may not be an official announcement so there may be more extras announced. My guess/assumption is we'll find out during ComicCon as I got the feeling that's when they're planning to announce details of the Region 1 release. (I also assume that must be when they're going to finally announce when/if we're ever getting the Adventure Games over here.)
I don't see how budget cuts would have anything to do with there being no commentaries. Has anyone stopped to think that this might have just been a "Russell T Davies thing" and that Moffatt isn't that interested?
I mean, I enjoy commentaries, but if the money that would have been spent on commentaries has instead been spent on Meanwhile in the TARDIS, and the Monster Diaries (assuming the latter is more than just recaps - I think the first one has been released in the UK now so maybe someone can chime in who's seen it), then I have nothing to complain about.
