Green Lantern - Ryan Reynolds costume revealed!

I love it. I like the way they've kept the comic book look without making it look too cheesy and color coded, and it does look sort of alien/organic, which it should. From farther away it looks almost just like the classic outfit, and up close it's a newer, more futuristic one. It's a fairly brilliant idea.

Agreed. I really like it.

I wouldn't mind if they lost the mask, though.
Maybe he'll use the mask on Earth when he needs to protect his identity, but dispense with it when he's in space.

I'm surprised they even gave him a mask. But I think you're right, I'm sure he'll be taking it off almost as much as Spider-Man did in his movies.

Maybe not. The problem with Spider-Man (and Iron Man) is that their masks completely cover their faces, making it next to impossible for the actors beneath to emote. A green domino mask that leaves much of Jordan's face uncovered allows for a greater range of expressions, so they probably won't need to get rid of it as often . . . .

They'll probably allow Green Lantern to lose the mask in the final battle so that the actor can be the main focus.

I can't put my finger on it but i've seen something similar to the Green lantern suit. Maybe it was something on Star Trek.

I like the costume but hate the mask...also remember that Hal's costume is supposed to be in 3D as well when you see it. Ryan Renyolds is growing on me as Hal Jordan slowly but surely.

That's true, although since GL's costume is generated by the power ring his mask can simply disappear and reappear at will, making it very easy for the filmmakers to have it come and go as they wish. If he's on Earth around people he doesn't want to know he's GL, the mask appears. If he's on Oa, the mask disappears. While Reynolds will still be able to emote with the mask on, having his eyes unobstructed would be preferable at times.

Now I know what it reminds me of! One of the characters from "Earth Final Conflict"

The suit is awesome. It actually appears to be alive. Can you imagine him moving around in that thing? It will be like watching someone's muscles in action only glowing and green. It's so different from all the other superhero costumes and yet it looks like GL through and through.

Why the ribbing/flayed look.? Oh well, I guess I should be glad its not a mini-lantern pattern. ;)

"Flayed," yes. That's the word I was aiming for. :) Not that I'm complaining. Ryan Reynold's body is pretty to look at.
