Eating in Boston

Hey. We are going over places to eat in Boston for our honeymoon next July. I wanted to ask about any restaurants that serve good pizza, especially places that deal in pizzas (like Armand's in DC or LaRosa's in Cincinnati if you are familiar with those), not cheap places.

Oh, and is Mangolia's any good? (southern food-cajun kind of thing). It's in Cambridge a bit east of downtown.

Any other places we should check out, within walking distance of Beacon Hill?

For Pizza, just go to the North End and follow your nose. :D

I've never heard of Mangolia's, but I can recommend a couple of good Thai places if you're interested.

I was in Boston a few years ago and didn't really go far outside my comfort zone, but I do remember having great food at the Cask & Flagon. Unfortunately then you'd run into baseball crowds, since it's right next to Fenway. But it's still worth it.

^oh. We are planning both going to a game and having a tour at Fenway :)

I've lived 20 miles from Boston for 2+ years and other than for work or a doctor's appointment, haven't gone there once.

In the 9+ years my wife and I have been together, we've gone out to dinner twice.

I'm not the guy to ask!

Running into baseball crowds is a bad thing, MLB?:p

I'm just guessing that the OP wasn't planning on attending a Sox game. And so they might not want to have to wait over an hour just to get a table. :p

If you're not attending the game that day, there really shouldn't be a problem while the game is going on unless fans in New England are as bad as fans in LA about their comings and goings.

Must be the baseball fan in me, but I don't understand how anyone can go to Boston at this time of year and not go see a game at Fenway.

My fiancée would go nuts.

Well, it's probably good she isn't marrying me then. I don't like Boston at all. I do love the Patriots, but they are in Foxborough, so I'm OK there.

Actually, for seafood, the best place I know is the No Name Restaurant, down on the waterfront.
