Obligatory Shore Leave Thread

For those who will be at the con and would like to know where I'll be and when I'll be there, I have posted my Shore Leave schedule on my blog.
I'll try to make as many book panels as possible. Hopefully the "final" schedule won't have things all jacked up. Y'all are invited to the STARFLEET mtg on Sat AM. I'm hoping to get a big promotion.

As a heads-up to anyone planning to use Baltimore's Light Rail system this weekend, part of the line is under construction this week through Saturday.
I posted on my blog how this may affect people. Basically, if you're flying into BWI and then intending to take the Light Rail to Hunt Valley, I might recommend making other transportation plans, while if you're coming into Penn Station and then taking the train to Hunt Valley you should be fine.

This is my sixth Shore Leave and it's the third one where there's been Light Rail construction going on during the weekend. What does MTA have against Shore Leave?

It's more to do, I think, with the Orioles being out of town. Not that MTA does a great job when the O's are playing.... *sigh*

Yes, Christopher, that will work on Friday. And construction should be done on Saturday, so when you leave on Sunday you shouldn't have to worry about buses.
Hmm, I'm a little unsure about the 27, since the announcement says parts of Howard Street will be closed down. The 27 parallels the Light Rail tracks for most of the affected area. But there's nothing on the MTA website about the 27 being delayed or rerouted.
Christopher, I can tell you that, in all defiance of my own experience with the Baltimore MTA, they actually have people this week at the affected stops directing passengers as to where to go and what to do.
I've been to Baltimore's Greyhound station downtown (I read the second Double Helix book there a decade ago), but I don't know off-hand how far it is from the light rail or the local bus routes. I'd be tempted to recommend that if the Greyhound station is close to a subway stop (maybe Charles Center or Shot Tower, though I think the latter is closer to Fells Point), it might be worthwhile to take the subway up to the State Center stop, then pick up the northbound Light Rail at Cultural Center. (These two stops are a block apart; it's where I transfer lines on my daily commute.)

The 27 makes a special loop right to the Greyhound station. The closest Light Rail stop is Hamburg Street, by the M & T Bank Stadium, which is about a half-mile walk. I actually walked there from the terminal last year to save on bus fare, but I don't think I'm up to it this week.
Nope. The nearest subway stop looks to be about a mile and a half from the Greyhound terminal.
If you've got balance to spare on your credit card, you could assuage your disappointment by making a contribution to, and thereby becoming a co-producer of, the roast of Mike Friedman. Doing so has the additional perquisite of getting your name put in the DVD credits -- and on the comp list for a free DVD....

Trying to decide if I should load up on anthologies, single ST books, or bring more non-ST stuff like "Dragon Precinct", "The Last World War", etc...to be signed. 
Make sure you save some cash to buy copies of The Calling and my other recent works when you stop by my table during "Meet the Pros"....
