Being a long time Doctor Who fan, I have to disagree with naming a reconn vessel Pertwee. The third Doctor was a fighter, always willing to throw down for a good cause. His name vessel should have been a frigate or cruiser of some type. That said, your designs are great, are you planning a Troughton, Baker II or McCoy class/classes?

Damn. Yes, your assumption is correct.

To be honest, i'm a little to lazy to change that at the moment. So i keep this the Davidson and a Davison might pop up later.

Since i did make an error by adding the registry, i have to touch this one again, so i will probably rename this to Troughton.

Since i have a corvette version of this hull in the works, that might become the Pertwee.

On the other Doctors, Baker already exists (FASA destroyer), adding more classes with the same name by adding a number to the name is much to contrieved; McCoy is too problematic because of a certain character in a certain TV show somehow linked to this schematics; McGann and Tennant may pop up later.

I wasn't even thinking about those names, but your right. Could go with a Collin class and a Sylvester class. I love the Pertwee class corvette, straight forward and to the point fast combatant, like the third Doctor.

There's actually something similar to this.

I found this years ago over at http://wolfsshipyard.mystarship.com/STrek.html and even turned it into a model around 2005 with slightly more primitive versions of TMP elements and all that.

    Also a great looking ship.

I guess projects like this are as old as the discussion weither the TMP Enterprise can be a refit of the TOS ship, so neither of our two are the first and certainly will not be the last.

The idea was to create a testbed for cheaper alternative to the Constitution refit project. A series of trials would prove the design less than optimal and the Enterprise's design far superior.

Thanks. I created the design about 20 years ago and first drew it on my Tandy 1000SL as part of a fanfic I wrote on the history of the USS Yorktown. After she was badly damaged in a border clash she was rebuilt to this testbed design and eventually modified to the Constitution Refit standard. I haven't really done any original ST work in almost a decade but I've been having great fun with Neale's work.

My page should be open unless there is something wrong with PB.
