Mother Photographes Baby With Bong

Didn't you have a baby bong when you were little? Heck, we even had little Barbie heroin syringes, like real supermodels use.

Does Gerber make Cheetos-flavored baby food?

I'm sure it was just a joke like the mom said, but she's pretty stupid to post it on Facebook. However, I'm more concerned with the baby growing up with a mother who typed this:

"If u look at the picture u can see that there is no bowl in the TABACCO pipe."

It's a funny picture and you'd probably be surprised at the number of "good, normal" parents who still partake of the ganja after they become parents.

The Thailand smoking baby from the news about a month or so ago would totally kick this upstart infant's ass.

Was the baby actually smoking from it? As the answer is most certainly no, I don't see the big deal here.

That's the young prodigy.

Tough-looking bastard, isn't he? I wouldn't want to mess with him. You get the feeling he has a gang of fellow rugrats in his thrall, ready to rip anyone treading on his turf a new one.

There's another clip of him on the net blowing smoke rings. No shop. A two-year old blowing smoke rings? Don't tell me smoking isn't cool... ;)

As far as I'm aware, Facebook CAN be publicly viewed, however you also have the option of restricting content to those whom you know and have added. It doesn't explicitly say who notified the authorities of the image, but it was either someone she knew who didn't have the balls to say to them what they think, or Facebook itself was playing cop and reported it.

Im not saying I explicitly condone the actions, but at the end of the day its hurting nobody.

Right. I wouldn't be too concerned about the kid growing up to be a pothead. The real danger is that he'll be an adult illiterate!

I don't think we'll have to worry too much about him achieving one at the expense of the other. I suspect there will be plenty of opportunity in his future life path to achieve both outcomes splendidly well...

Which means they're high while in charge of children and infants. How is this different from being drunk and in charge of children and infants?

I've seen young children high on second-hand drug smoke, and it's no laughing matter. The children of ganja smokers who come to our centre suffer many of the same social and developmental delays as children of alcoholics and hard drug users.

Parenting is a priviledge, not a right.

I know I'm taking a very hard stance but I deal with so many kids whose parents are substance abusers that it hits a serious nerve. The Facebook photo may have been a "joke", but lighting a spliff around kids makes me see red. I'm glad the mother was reported.

Even if it was a joke, taking a picture and putting it on Facebook was a stupid thing to do. Of course, the mother is very young and has hopefully learned something from this besides proper spelling.

Back when I actually had a Facebook account* , I always had to log in before I could view anything at all.

*Here is a simple list of instructions on how to completely delete your facebook account, BTW. ;) Linky

Perchance he will follow in the footsteps of the Htoo kids.

That entire article is full of awesome.

"...if two pre-pubescent kids walked into your office right now chain smoking Marlboro Reds, tossed you an AK and told you it was time to take down the man, you'd have to think long and hard about declining the offer..." :guffaw:

Virtually all parents will consume an alcoholic beverage from time to time while supervising their children without any ill effects, and the same can be true of marijuana consumed in moderation as long as the children aren't exposed to second-hand smoke. Did your father never consume so much as a beer when you were a kid?

As for the picture, meh. Placing an empty liquor bottle in front of a sleeping infant and snapping a picture has been a standard gag for decades. That said, putting it on facebook was pretty stupid.
