Making the Star Trek Universe a Reality

I wish to make the wonderful posters here aware that we have in our current capabilities the means to make the vision of Gene Roddenberry real. To that end, I partnered with an inventor and together we wrote a book showing how we could usher in a golden age of Star Trek reality.

The book is not a Star Trek novel, but offers solutions to vitually all the blocks towards such a world.

Abundance
The problem with "abundance" is that it can just be a form of the Robin Hood story, rob from the (people who produce) and give to the (people who don't), charity is good as long as we never venture into redistribution.

The ultimate source of bad behavior is scarcity in the vast majority of cases.
Wrong, the absents of scarcity hardly eliminates bad behavior, bad behavior is found through all economic groups. The ultimate source of bad behavior is the personal willingness to engage in such behavior in the first place. Blaming it on scarcity is nothing but an excuse. Please.

eliminate money – we can have what we need for the asking.
But is this even a good thing? Even if it could be made to happen. If you could have anything you want with no effort on your own part, where is your personal achievement? Will your sole glory come in how little you have to do in the course of your everyday life?

Roddenberry didn't have a "vision." Star Trek is a TV Show/Movie series. Its purpose is to entertain, not provide a road map to better living.

How did your "inventor" manage to design a device which harnesses dark energy when nobody even knows what it is? You have to have a theory on which to base the design of hardware. If you had such a theory and it could pass muster in a peer-reviewed journal, you and your "inventor" would already be famous.

Did you read my book? Hmmmm. I'm guessing not. All this is addressed therein. Especially in my chapter called "The End of Entropy."

Ok, so Gene was lucky in coming up with entertainment that depicts a road we can choose to take. Is that better?

Really, this obfuscates the point I am trying to make: that we can live in a world much like what Gene came up with, where there is no need for money, and a focus on following one's bliss is held as the most noble pursuit.

Read the book, and THEN make comments.

Tell you what, read the book to get a grasp. It turns out that we didn't need to understand combustion (what fire is) to use fire, and we don't need to understand what the "Dark" Energy is to use it, either.

Wilhelm Reich, Viktor Schauberger, Nikola Tesla, and others (including many who are working with Zero Point Energy - which IS the "Dark" Energy) all have experience of its manifestations.

Come back with better comments when you have read the book. (And the title of the book is a wee bit misleading.)
