Paranormal Activity 2 teaser trailer next weekend

Coming Soon.net reports that we could get our first glimpse of "Paranormal Activity 2" next weekend as the teaser trailer will be attached with "Twilight:Eclipse". They just started filming the sequel last month and no cast has been confirmed yet so I'm not expecting anything concrete shown...it will be my first chance to see if I'm going to bother checking this out or not.

I'll prob check it out regardless. I enjoyed the first one with the theatrical ending too. I liked the alternate ones as well. I wonder where which direction they will go in with a sequel.

^ Your later statement is the ONLY reason why I'm still curious about this as I'm a huge fan of the original ending and accept only that ending I've heard a rage of rumors that this is going to be a bigger budget remake of the first (thus why Oren Pell is only a producer and didn't return to direct...granted he's busy with Area 51 right now). It'll be at least interesting to see what they do. Never heard of Kip Williams either.

Yeah that's been addressed and they're all apparently aware of "Blair Witch 2: The Book of Shadows" and are determined not to steer "Paranormal Activity 2" in the same direction. Hopefully that's not what happens.

I heard all the buzz about the first one, watched it and was extremely underwhelmed. Has the quality of films and television gotten so bad that this is what passes for good solid enjoyable entertainment.

Yes a lot of people did like it, it is the most profitable move in the history of cinema (I believe) but it's not the end. As I said I don't think there should have been a sequel. The only reason there IS one is that Speilberg recommended they change the ending of the film and thus...Katie is "missing" instead of dead and viola you have your sequel.

There is a lot of people that like American Idol and Jersey Shore--doesn't mean it isn't crap and that the viewers have questionable taste. More and more I am finding myself just becoming turned off by tv and films to the point where I don't watch most of it.

Interesting...I found it a compelling look at a relationship that really wasn't as stable as the couple themselves admitted it was framed around a ghost haunting. As the film progresses the couple's relationship starts to break down and deteriorate to the point where while possessed Katie actually kills Micha and then herself is killed by the police. That's one of the reasons why I found the original theatrical version so compelling is that it's tragic ending of a relationship that was supposed to be filled with hope and promise. I wouldn't go so far as to compare "Paranormal Activity" to "Jersey Shore". It was no Oscar candidate and people seemed to have a love/hate relationship with the film after they saw it...same reaction to "The Blair Witch Project".

I used to value certain critics' opinions about things but those critics aren't around anymore and the new generation are easily impressed like Michael Ausiello that I don't even bother reading their stuff.

I don't hate a lot of stuff I simply have a low tolerance for the glut of crappy tv shows, music and films nowadays. I guess if that is something some people have only known then I can understand why they might like them but I'd rather watch something made 10, 15, 20 or more years ago when it comes film/tv series or listen to music from back then than watch or listen to the crap that is all the rage these days. It is just increasingly becoming more and more vacuous.
