First look at "The Green Hornet"

Tonight the first trailer for The Green Hornet debuts on Jimmy Kimmel Live but Entertainment Tonight has the first look.

The Green Hornet, directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and co-written and staring Seth Rogen, the film adaptation of the TV show starring Bruce Lee has met some bumps along the road, from the controversy over Rogen as the Green Hornet, to director Stephen Cho backing out as director and then star (he would have been Kato), to the delays, the film definitely has an uphill battle, but the one minute of footage released so far looks pretty cool.

Rogen hasn't completely sold me yet, but what do you guys think?

I admit I'm very curious about this one. One way or another, it's going to be fascinating to see if they pull it off.

I hope the film will be a success. I hope audiences will accept Seth Rogen as a serious action hero.

Does anyone else find it strange that we now live in a society where we have previews for trailers?

This one smells fishy......it's comical, it's serious, it's seriously comical...............?

When the Green Hornet TV series was on the air, it was the "straight-laced heroics" answer to the Batman show's campiness. I really feel like the movie should have had a serious tone....not grim, just straight heroics. I'll pass on this one.

The trailer did not look great, but I'm sure I'll see the movie eventually.

The Kato Vision thing, and Gondry directing are pretty interesting though.

My eyes!!!! Seriously the studio already buried this movie in January so what does that tell you.

I think the trailer is better than that earlier TV spot. The gas gun gag is pretty heinous but the rest of it isn't too bad. I suspect a lot of people want a serious version and this is leaving a taste like Will Ferrell(sp.) in Land of the Lost but it might be OK on its own. If you could take away that it's an established property I think people would be warmer towards it.

Rogan is playing it a tad more 'disconnected frat boy' than I'd like.
It does play well into how the comic is being written currently by IDW which is up to issue #4.
Kato, like in the show is the real muscle of the team. Still the TV show and comic versions have had a capable Hornet. I hope Rogan when in action is not campy.

I'll see it.
