Geez you wouldnt want to get caught raping a woman if she will be wearing this.

i will let you have a read and then l hope you will comment on this.

i think if this works it is a great idea and it will stop alot of rapes.

Plus one of the features is of jaggered teeth that wiill grasp the penis but it will not break the skin

He can not pee or walk proberly so he would be in a bit of pain.

I hope l am not being to graphic about this if l am please let me know.

This will be somehow be turned into a kinky-sex device. And I don't see how it's a "condom", exactly. I mean, men don't wear condoms to prevent themselves from being raped.

But it seems like a... sound idea so long as there's no chance of the woman getting hurt by it. Sounds like an evil "fingercuff" device.

So... what if a woman has one of these on, she meets up with a man she wants to have sex with it and she forgets to remove it?!

Like the dentata in Snowcrash. I read about this in the paper a while ago, it's interesting and, sadly, necessary.

I've heard of this, err, device before, but the part about it not breaking the skin is new to me. I wonder if it might not have been toned down during development.

I'm not sure it's a particularly good idea, mind you. Fingers crossed that the rapist doesn't retain enough presence of mind to beat the living shit out of the wearer?

I think this will be very effective as an anti-rape device. That said, I hope the wearer isn't the forgetful type.

Well she would have to get it removed by docters. if she did enter a relationship

i have to agree that you would have to be scared that you would have to resort to this type of device.

I wonder also if it would be comfortable to wear..

i dont see any imformation on this.in the article.

I took it that he has to see a doctor to remove it but the woman can take it on and off as she needs. I mean, the thing would kind of suck if it captured the guy in the woman and only a doctor could seperate the two.

Plus it would probably really interfere with menstruation and general womanly issues.

That's why it needs to inject and anesthetic like in the book!

Yeah, thought about that too.

Yes your right smiles.

The woman inserts it in like a tampon and it can be removed so it will be alright for her.

The man has to get it removed by a doctor.

How emarrassing that would be for him.

But it would detor him from raping again hopefully.

I'm just praying that no angry housewife gets any ideas. That may sound wrong, but I swear, this is one of those things that has to be worn by someone with very sound judgment. "Embarrassment" is not the word I would use if this device were used for anything other than it's intended purpose. This is one of those delicate issues where I fully understand and support the reasoning behind it, while still cringing the whole time.

I wouldn't want to get on the bad side of that women
Ugh. I'm sorry, but we are talking about a country with one of the highest incidents of reported rape in the world, with, for example, 36,000 cases of rape reported between April and December -- and where it is estimated only one out of nine cases are actually reported to police. This is a country where rape is so common that 46% of men admit to having done it MORE THAN ONCE.

And people come in with snide remarks? Get some perspective.

Indeed, and that is why I fully support it. That said, this device will be made available to all women all over the world, will it not?

All true, but we also live a country where women get upset (rightfully) that their husband or SO slept with another woman and then attack the guy's penis with a knife for revenge (not so rightfully.) So it's not impossible that a woman would use such a device to "attack" someone who spurned her, rather than attacked her.

You're right, I forgot -- about 36,000 men every 6 months have their penises chopped off by enraged wives, while another 324,000 are also so mutilated but too ashamed or afraid to report the assault. Your fears are totally validated.

I'm just saying it's a device that could be abused but plenty of self-defense devices can be abused. Not saying this device should be banned, not used, or whatever. Hell, I think it's a great idea. I think they should put GPS trackers in them or something to find the guy it, er, "captures."

Just tossing out there that it could be "abused."
