"You'd never have a problem with putting up of friends of relatives if you had a Tardis in your living room. This police box could set you back up to £12,000 at auction - not bad for all that extra room. It was used in the 2005 relaunch of Doctor Who ... auctioneer Bonhams of London is advising bidders the Tardis is not actually bigger on the inside."

Hmmmm. Now I just need to convince my wife that we need one of these at home. Oh and to allow me to spend £12,000.

I've seriously considered building a Tardis to use as a garden shed. Mind you, the girlfriend and I haven't bought a house yet but when we do... she probably wouldn't let me.

My girlfriend kept on at me to buy a wardrobe (I just use those clothing rails at the moment) I said fine and pointed out the canvas TARDIS one in Argos...she hasn't mentioned it since

I approached SWMBO (aka my wife or "she who must be obeyed") about doing the same type of thing, and she's all for it. Two different online locations are proving to be pretty helpful:

The Tardis Builders Workshop Manual

and

Tardisbuilders.com

Is it wrong that I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a Tardis in your garden?

actually I like working with wood, so I am going to follow that Tardis builders website and make one for myself, and mine will be superior to the Show version..

It will ave A/C and an outdoor Loo! with a mini fridge built into the door with a small screen flat TV.. what more could anyone ask for in their back yard!:techman:

I think the only problem is how to connect it to the existing septic system???:guffaw::guffaw:

One time when the hubster and I were in Home Depot we saw this really cool outdoor shed that was just the right shape. I said to him, "Hey, if we paint that blue it will look just like the TARDIS!"

While he was amused, sadly he is not a Doctor Who fan, so vetoed the idea. :(

I so want a Tardis, my girldfriend said that if ever we move in together i can call the house the tardis and have the tardis door as our front door :D i think that's probably on condition that she will have creative say on the rest of the house.

Also when i used to get the train to go on some course i did every day from the train ride you could see into peoples back gardens and one of these back gardens used to have a tardis in i was so jealous.

Well, there's a swimming pool, of course, but maybe you could squeeze that into the library. :D

Here he is with actual blueprints (that I found and had framed for him for Xmas)...

As for how he built it, the only answer I have is "with skill". He and his older brother are musicians by trade, who own a business where they handcraft guitar bodies to spec. Naturally it was no great stretch for them to replicate a Type-40 Police Box. Both are avid fans of Tom Baker's era, so it was merely boredom I think that goaded them into doing it. It contains mostly garden tools, I believe... ;)

Well I just figured I could take pics and finally show that the Tardis does indeed have a bathroom! :guffaw:And those who ask where it is would have the ultimate answer...:techman:
