If the Palin pic had been a pic of Obama making the same gesture, it would have been funny. Probably funnier than it is with Palin in it. On the other hand, the presented Obama pic is just a pic of the guy standing there, with extremist political commentary added to it. The funny is absent.

I think you're leaping to conclusions, Gertch and I think you know it.
First of all, I think you know me well enough to know that I don't hate women.
Secondly, I think if this had been a picture of Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi you'd be all over it, laughing with the rest of the people who find it amusing.
Thirdly, it's just a thread bomb. Unlike the smoking baby, it had a humorous (to some) caption taking advantage of the photo itself. It does not represent wholesale my view or those who are amused by it of women.
Is it a cheap shot? Absolutely. But no more than SPOCKED's response, which I admittedly don't see the humor behind either. Either way, if the moderators choose to remove mine, fair enough. But if you're going to drag my name and reputation in the mud, have the decency to do it directly. Thanks.

Yes, 005 is notorious around here for his hatred of women. Give me a break. Posting a crass picture does not mean he hates women, and his posts here in the past more than back him up on that fact.
Let's be honest, if that pic had been of an unknown woman and not Sarah Palin you wouldn't have said anything. If it had been of a rival female politician you didn't like, you would have joined in. This has everything to do with your political stance and not your obvious and overwhelming support for women's equality (like when you said it's fine for women not to get equal pay for performing the same job as a man, for instance).
While I agree that the image is mildly sexist in that it reduces a woman to an object of sexual gratification in a way that an equivalent male politician/celebrity would not be, it's not blatantly sexist in the "women are inferior" sense. Nor is it actionable any more than the numerous Obama or Bush or other pics insulting political figures have been except for when they cross the line into full-blown racism or sexism (calling someone inferior for qualities out of their control) or other things that violate the board rules.
Politics sux, yo.
